I really hope it's going to be good. but i guess there will be some very good, or maybe even great songs on it, but in overall the most songs will not be very amazing... rock n roll love affair is really lame. but i guess this album will be better than 20ten, if it's the level of Lotusflower, i will be very happy, because i actually think that album is pretty great.

I think it wil be good. Most Prince albums are.

I don't, however, feel that it will be great.

Besides, brilliant composing and execution, Prince's origina strong points where emotion.

He seldom explores emotional concepts much beyond a sort of theatrical paint-by-numbers

sense anymore. There's really no comparison emotionally of Fury, Cinamon Girl, or

Colonized mind to songs like Darlin Nikki, When Doves Cry, or Sometimes it Snows in April.

With Prince, you have to add in emotion to make it great. His recent albums but been

emotionally dull.

So this is what it's come down to? Prince releases an album and fans say, oh well, at least it's got two good songs on it...

Do U2 fans expect their next record to be JOSHUA TREE 2.0? Do Bealtes/Paul McCartney fans expect his upcoming album to be Beatles-good or BAND ON THE RUN/RAM good? Do Rolling Stones fans expect another EXILE ON MAIN STREET?* Give me a break.

Yiu know you're debating/using sense with idiots, right?

Sort of, yeah. At least they hope it will be. That's why they're fans. They want more and they know what their favorite artists are capable of. I definitely impressed with the new tracks that just dropped so I hope the record is that good.

People may not want those exact same records, but fans who buy albums on release day, sight and sound unseen and unheard, are at least hoping for, if not expecting neccesarily, that same level of quality.

I think that's a good point. You look at The Beautiful Ones, and the lyrics are nothing great, but the emotions are so powerful that he makes it work.

Prince is strangely restrained these days.
