Piano based Prince songs.....They NEVER fail!

Yes he's more known for his funk/rock oriented songs with bass and guitar but my personal favorites have always been Piano based songs that are minimally produced. Shame some of these were never released but I think he should do more songs like these because they are simply superb...wouldn't you agree?

Leaving for New York

Open Book

Under the Cherry Moon

Get Blue

Free

Soundcheck of Screams of Passion

Still Would Stand All Time

A Case of You

How Come U Don't Call Me Anymore

Extraordinary

Cold Coffee and Cocaine

Grand Progression

One Nite Alone songs

Electric Intercourse (all 4 versions are great but I'm particularly fond of the version that sounds very different from the other three - the soundcheck version where he says "chorus, too early, too early....Verse!" in the middle)

BEAUGARDE

There is a piano version or maybe it's when he came with Purple Music. It's way better than the boot. And I love Father's Song.

Not a ballad, but "Some Kind Of Lover" by Appollonia 6 has some great deep piano.

I love it at live shows when he sits down at the piano how the audience just calms down and everyone is focused on him.

When eye go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all heart up in the house but when eye log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

Yes...how could I forget all these beautiful songs you mentioned music I also love the soundcheck version of "When We're Dancing Close & Slow". I just think the Piano is the best complimentary sound for Prince's vocals while some guitar based songs tend to overshadow his vocals with it's sound, especially at live shows.
