I think 3121 fits the mood of modern Xmas

it has jams to dance with your guests, some slow burning ballads to ease the situation and the production is just...warm, deep, semi-organic, PERFECT

so, 3121 is a GREAT albuM, Prince's best of the 00s and a perfect album for Xmas

Come on, 3121 and the 3121 era was great. The album is a great album. Fury, Black Sweat, The word, Get on the Boat are all instant awesomeness. The rest either builds on u or it doesn't. for me the song 3121, Beautiful, The dance, Incesnse built for me and the rest of the album is at times embarassing for me to listen to in public but is okay. Blacksweat didn't need a guitar solol haha it was supersexy with out it. the 3121 era was great too with because Prince played a ton of awesome award shows and dressed in those sexy japanese robes, haha look at wat he's wearing now and compare it to 3121 and ulll miss 3121. To bad he did a huge tour for musicology an above average album and didn't do one for the good 3121. 3121 to me is the 2000s version of diamonds and pearls which some great singles, a few songs that either get u or don't and some songs u can never ever play again.

I can see rainbow children being considered better than 3121 eventhough i disagree. But i can't see News, 2010, Planet earth, lotus, mlps, being considered better. 2010 is just sad if u ask me and not even Prince paid much attention to it. 3121 prince didn't try to sound like the 80s and wasn't trying to be overly pop and wasn't overly jesus which is why i like it.

The albums I associate with Christmas are Emancipation and The Rainbow Children as they came out around that time.

3121 reminds me more of Spring/Summer as it came out then and it has a summery type vibe.

Couldn't agree more with emancipation. It makes sense cause thats the way the album feels and it's a 3 disk set so it's a better christmas gift. 3121 is like an album for a mildly hot may day.
