can't you just see Prince doing a line dance to this genius tune live!
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
how can you knock that brilliant guitar run before he says "far be it for me to say..."
and what about the "ow-wa!" ANY prince song that has that has to be at least somewhat good! . [This message was edited Thu Mar 6 17:15:27 PST 2003 by mrdespues]

Jughead vs Right The Wrong.
Better record - Jughead Better live - Right The Wrong

I just played "Right the Wrong" to my girlfriend for the first time, then "Graffiti Bridge" (the song).
And she looked at me during both songs as if she was very bored and wanted me to die...BUT! She did say that "at least the first one was funky" and she seemed to like the "ow-wa!" bit. She said "Graffiti Bridge" was incredibly gay. Verdict: Right the Wrong is certainly NOT his worst song (at least according to my girfriend, a casual Prince fan).

I love Prince's vocal on Jughead. I like the record but Tony M. doesn't usually translate well live.

How is it that the Breeders love to use that adjective?? [This message was edited Thu Mar 6 19:55:54 PST 2003 by EverlastingNow]

Do you mean my girlfriend is ripping them off or something? what a strange thing to say.

Come on! The tune, as a whole, suck big time! Prince does Country & Western - badly!!! It's easy to pick little bits in any of Prince's tunes and say, "That's cool" - the man is a genius in production and musicianship, so there is always going to be something, even if it lasts 2 seconds!
For example, in RTW I love the Stevie Ray Vaughan type rhythm lick that occurs in the breakdown. I also love how low reaching and deep the bass is, but, erm, that's it! But, to say this tune is genius is like an alchemist saying he can turn dog-shit in to diamonds! ...we have only scratched the surface of what the mind can do...

There is an unreleased version of this track that is reportedly much better from a musical standpoint than the album version.
On the other hand a lot of people are often surprised by the turn of phrase and the social commentary (which, if anybody is still wondering, deals with the wrongs heaped upon the native Americans). Bob Dylan would have killed for a lyric like this. Quite apart from that, I still would not inflict this on a non-fan. . "You don't frighten us, English pig dogs. Go and boil your bottoms, sons of a silly person."

Nope - can't do it? Won't do it? Ok let me help you.
The reason you felt compelled to just insert some abuse following a considered opinion is that you find it impossible to comprehend that someone may dislike something Prince did. This is evident from a very quick review of your past posts, which show you to be an inflammatory ass-kisser! Of course, if it is anything other than what I have said there, you will be more than willing to disprove my theory. Perhaps you will even discuss exactly, why you consider Right the Wrong to be a work of genius? Come on, "Sing the song"!! But, to say this tune is genius is like an alchemist saying he can turn dog-shit in to diamonds! That statment right there...Who made you the Genius track picker? Idiot, So what if he likes it and thinks it's genius. Opinion's are like a-holes everybody's got one and my opinion of you is Idiot. Successful people do what Un-Successful people won't do!

So, by your own logic, who made you the idiot picker?
Your argument says nothing! Yes, everyone has an opinion (got any more truisms you'd like to "enlighten" people with?!) - his is that this track is genius (along with TWO other people here), myself and the concensus is that this is one of the worst tracks of Prince's career! So, idiots are people that disagree with someone else, hmmm? Well, let's come down to your level now - I would say that your constant agreement with everything that Prince does makes you a cocksucker! Now, try posting something that's actually worth the bandwidth! [This message was edited Fri Mar 7 6:44:14 PST 2003 by Mindflux] ...we have only scratched the surface of what the mind can do...
