I saw Prince at the United center in Chicago on 9/25-26 and on both nights i can't really remember this guitar being used that much and he usually stuck with his telecaster for most of the night. ALso come on wat is up with the outfit he wore the paints and heels savev him but wat is that thing. It's very un Princian. I hate the shirt with a passion and the guitar is to lame looking for me to play and just looking at it makes me angry. But Prince can be a good troll and no matter wat he looks like ill always remember the concert on 9/25 which was the best concert i ever wore and if he can perform like that with this outfit then fine haha. Besides Vox? really Prince? You should try PRS (Paul Reed Smith) ud love their sound and their exotic looks would really suit u.

The artist who painted that guitar (Jake) is calling Prince a tight ass who asked for a good deal.

I don´t like the look of that guitar, and I also can´t stand his Fender Strats.

I prefer the Hohner Tele or the Cloud. Why does an artist who´s got at least two or three trademark guitars use such boring looking guitars these days?

Maybe with age and maturity, your ear becomes more discerning, thus you tend to gravitate towards instruments that elicit a sound that is more qualitative as opposed to the visual presentation? Maybe he likes the tone of an American made Fender Strat, or the feel of the Vox vs what he hears/feels from the Cloud or Hoehner.

yeah its starting to get to weird for me. Like the shades are alright but what is he going for lol.

It's a cool axe. I like the P-90's in there..nice touch. Hopefully it will inspire some new crazy riffs in him.

Ugly finish on Prince's guitar, but I'm intrigued by his turn to soapbar-looking pickups and by the switches. I'm guessing one's a coil-tapper for funky jangle. Curious whether the neck radius gets him back in the old Gibson neighborhood.

I think it's hideous, but looks don't matter much.

To be honest, It really doesn't matter what his axe of choice is.

He can glam it up all he wants and play the shit out of it!

I'm trying to make sense of the finish - how it could be improved anyway. It makes the guitar kind of hard to discern - like, the pickups and hardware are hard to find in all that noise. But I do like his choice of Vox - pretty unexpected and it goes back to his 60s thing he's always seemed to like (like Wendy's Rick back in the day). Who else plays a Vox? I didn't even know they made guitars to be honest. A cool original choice for him.

He shouldn't be playing Strats, they're too big for him (me too). And with all respect to whoever suggested Paul Reed Smiths, I know the craftsmanship is good but they are so plain jane and everyday and guys like Nickelback play PRS so no way is that a good option for Prince. The headstocks are ugly too.

Would like to see him with another completely custom model someday.
