It didn't make the cut? Is it jus me, but I was listening 2 "All My Dreams" and it sounds so much like a track that it should've been on the Parade Album. 2 other songs that has that sound 2 is "Movie Star" and "Splash". I listened 2 Parade 2day and then played these songs 2 and they flow with the album. Does anyone kno a reason y the songs didn't make the cut?....I'm truly sorry if this was already asked.  | |

All my dreams was supposed to be released on Dream Factory but not on Sign 'O' the Times because The Revolution broke up. Just as the case with a lot of songs that included them.

I thought 'Movie Star' was written for Morris Day(The Time) as opposed to being for a Prince album. Anyone know for sure? When  go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all  up in the house but when log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming! | |

I can see why it was removed from Parade, I think it fits much better on Dream Factory. And again can see why it wasn't one of the tracks carried over to CB/SOTT (besides having W&L prominently on it), it doesn't fit that either.
It's in the liner notes for Crystal Ball, but who knows how accurate those are. Since Morris wasn't around then, I always took it mean he was coming from the same mindset as the Time stuff - the Movie Star character is like Morris/Jamie Starr. At the most I'd guess he could've thought at one point "I'll put this in the bank for Morris down the road." | |
