'RNR'+ Country-Feeling Songs

I was talking to a friend a couple of days ago, and we mentioned 'RNR' and so much buzz have been created on it already. Some people giving it a 'Country-Feel' and how it brings resemblance to 'Take Me With U, The One U Wanna C, etc...I can see some of these connections. How it contains some elements of funk, blues, etc...I know the greater majority 'HERE' seems to not like it as much for whatever reason. lol

I myself have said it did not 'connect' with me at the time...But it has sense grown on me as something I can bear and simply jam to while in the car or so. It is not that bad to me....It gets too much negativity in my opinion.

I wanted to discuss some of these songs with a 'Country' feeling to them. 'Country' seems to generally, be overlooked when I talk about it in a music genre sense. Obviously 'Country' today seems mainly POP and stripped from the elements it was created within.. Of course that gives room for debate, but as for the feel for' Country' Prince has tapped into, what are some of your favorite efforts?

So there are some 'Country Sounding..Efforts' from The man and I wonder if you guys appreciate some of them as much as I do. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE OFFER?

Dinner With Delores - Being one of my favorite singles and feeling, I say this one with a memorable and quirky lyricism. I dig this song, and find it to be one of his most understated.

Share with me some of your favorite Prince efforts concerning a 'Country-Feel?' Even some guitar licks he accomplishes. On 'One Nite Alone', he stated ' He likes country music too' obviously some elements of 'Alphabet Street' sounds kinds of country when he brings chicken greese guitar on some elements...

Share your thoughts! smile

I really like Dinner With Delores!

But, I can't really remember what R'n'R sounds like (and I've played it about 7 or 8 times)

Prince only have a few songs with some bits that resemble country. Still Waiting is country soul ,Right the Wrong RnR Affair and maybe something acoustic .

Let's Go Country, I Love Farm Animals In Me, Sticky Like My Sister, Under the Cherry Tree, Dreamin About Ewe, Around the Farm In a Day...

Those to me are some of my favourite Prince country feel songs.

I don't know what country music yallz listening to, but Right The Wrong is the only Prince song that even approaches country music. And I think it's more of a parody of country music.

willing and able too...

*do not forget that Rhythm and Blue, Blues, and Rock especially acts like Elvis (rockabilly) all have commonalities. Led Zep music is full of country influences...

When U Were Mine is classic new wave pop rock ditty and not a single country flavor.but there are country artists who covered it.Still Would Stand is much more gospel and no country there. But the funiest sugestion is by the original poster who said that Dinner With Delores have country feeling.hahaha do you people even know what country is? Shoulda a boy from Europe like me teach you what country is? Grab in some Johny Cash and listen to the genre

Alright, first of all I never claimed that 'Dinner With Delores' was a country song totally. I said it brings some feelings of 'Country' elements. Not that it in self was country music.

*I wanted to discuss some of these songs with a 'Country' feeling to them. 'Country' seems to generally, be overlooked when I talk about it in a music genre sense. If you really want to go into depth of what Country is all about we can mention Charley Pride, Dwight Quick, Tim MCgraw, The Rascal Flats, etc...who all consider themselves country artists. I personally don't listen to much 'Country' music. But I know some elements when I hear it. Likely, you know more about the genre than me. But that does by no means disqualifies, the feel of its sound that, Prince has tapped into.

cool
