differents strokes for differents folks... Concerning Prince's interview last September on the View, I wonder what does Prince really think about "Lady Gaga", Rihanna, Pitbull, Gangnam, Guetta style etc, all those artists who hit ceilings with their mega tubes, although very marketed productions, nevertheless successful and famous among the youngster.. Seems to me that even though don't sound like "Real Music", there is a real business out of that kind of "music", sound or noise.. Has Prince ever thought about making music for "Ibiza" crowds or nightclubs dancefloors..? A different music to hit different public?

Well he did go through that whole hip hop phase and did used to give some of his music to dj's to play such as gett off. I just can't imagine Prince doing like dubstep even though it would be the greatest dubstep of all time i just can't see him selling out like that. He really doesn't need to. He's worth atleast 250 million dollars he doesn't need the money, and he's had plenty of success.

with that logic you might argue that prince made the greatest rap of all time .. prince success remains firmly in the past .. his current status is : epic fail .. if eye was prince i'd try not to go out like a spineless jelly fish .. maybe try a little harder to do something respectable to put an end cap on what was once a great career

Woah Woah Woah. Dude Musicology Went 2x platinum, 3121 debuted at #1, and Planet earth and lotus debuted at #3 and #2. Besides there are some great Prince songs on those albums and even though im not a fan of 2010 the ballads and soft songs on that album are some of his best. Besides saw P live in Chicago this year and was the best concert id ever attended so i don't know wat ur saying.

Agreed. Some of the biggest success of Prince's career has come post 2003. What the fuck? "New Power slide...."

Purely...gimmies...based soley on the merits of his prior successes. If we'd have never heard of Prince...prior...to 2003 and only had the music he created from then on to go on...we wouldn't even be talk about him...right now! Those that understand the truth regarding Prince, for what it is, know that I'm telling the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth! I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

Around In The World In A Day and Parade also both sold as many copies as they did due to the success of Purple Rain. They didn't sell several million copies each just because people were really into that type of stuff in the 1980s.
You could probably add Sign "O" The Times and Lovesexy to that same line of albums that sold because of Purple Rain as well.
I'm speaking nothing but the truth, you know.

Many of his albums from Batman and GB onwards have contained a few songs that have tried to emulate the sound of the dance or club music of the time. Those are the songs that some fans have had the hardest time to connect with.
Thankfully, Prince hasn't tried to appeal to the "Ibiza" crowds just yet. MPLSound showed some sort of an attempt to fuse more contemporary dance synth sounds to his own funk-based stuff, but he didn't really go all the way there either.

The same could be said for anyone lol. Many bands and artist current day works wouldn't have made them famous in this day lol thats why they became famous back in the day.

Ur right about Purple Rain helping those albums sell but Prince was already having success prior to purple rain and artiwiad and parade would have been hits without purple rain just not as big. I really dig the batman album but i could see how alot of fans wouldn't like how all over the place it is. don't care much for graffiti bridge except for thieves and npg. I totally agree with wat u said about MPLS. Didn't care that much for the package and wat is up with songs like Box of chocolate lol.

I really like the way some speak "the truth" sooooooo funny... are you attending a court case??
Well, I really wonder and am quite sure, because I trust Prince into his field..It'd be really successful the remixes, trance, dance songs coming from the Purple Brain, would definetely explode our conception of dance music.. I remember once, there was a page on "npgmusicclub" kind of a "room, you entered and there was a "great fast sound" inviting to a journey; inside of that place, the picture was a kind of "peaceful" place with a woody floor as in asian countries and some red lights and lanterns..some few notes, never been able to dl of catch this sound somewhere..beside, was it from Prince? Do you remember??? Haven't heard, not yet, a remix of "rock n' roll love affair", this song doesn't give me "goose pimples" or makes me "vibrate" (lol) or else, it's not really the song that I'd listen to on and on and still be amazed on and on..whereas, I do appreciate the lyrics

They are all basically danceclub mixes with a straight kickdrum repeat club beat. Not my interest at all, but he seems to going for club sounds with those mixes done by some DJ. My art book: http://www.lulu.com/spotl...ecomicskid
