Prince's personality lends itself to a unique style and viewpoint of the the world, often associated with strong themes of being an alternative to the mainstream.

1. Do you consider yourself "normal" or "different" to the mainstream and has this been reflected in your attraction to Prince's music?

Those answers are actually serious. I'm an average joe, not particularly "alternative" in my outlook, appearance, life choices etc. Prince's "prince-ness" to me is sometimes amusing/bemusing (at best) and an annoyance/embarrasing (at worst). I also think Prince is not really that different or odd. He knows he is "Prince" and plays on it.

But there's obviously something about all of those things that is reflected in the music and in the way it makes me feel, that attracts me, and connects with me in a way that it does not with many people I know, who remain rather indifferent to the man.

1. i float on the mainstream in many ways but meander off it at will.

prince was pure escapism when i was younger, quite a vicarious relationship at times. i'm glad he was strange, eccentric and weird. pure theatre.
