I can die now I have been a big Prince fan for many years now. My interest level ebbs and flows depending on what I happen to be listening to at the time and what is going on in my life. Right now I am really digging Prince the musician. The craftsman of tones and melodies, especially on guitar.
Which brings me to the purpose of this post. After regular views online of the performance of Shhh, Grand Journal in Paris the video suddenly vanished from the face of the earth and I was forced to settle for a high quality audio only version. I really have to say, with the benefit of solid headphones and no visual distractions, the guitar work on this track is maybe...the greatest thing I have ever heard him do. He changed things up a bit, added some new note and the result is so exquisitely beautiful, sexy and nasty it brings me to tears almost every time.
When they lower me into the ground, I want this played.
You still got it Prince.

Awesome.
On the 4/14/12 LA concert, a girl in the audience says the exact same thing after "Purple Rain". Nearly made me fall over when I heard it the first time!

Why would you die when you can listen to it again and again for many more years? A COMPREHENSIVE PRINCE DISCOGRAPHY (work in progress ^^): https://sites.google.com/...scography/

Awesome post. Short & sweet.
2funkE, I just went & listened to one of the vids online from 2011 and listened to just the audio. It's probably not the performance you're talking about, but your post made me appreciate the one I did see more than I would've otherwise. Thank you.
