Prince just filed the most awesome lawsuit against a collection agency -- 'cause, for a change, he's going after them to get back more than $100,000 the agency allegedly jacked from his bank account.

According to the suit ... Capital Asset Protection made two withdrawls from Prince's bank accounts back in June in the amount of $105,949.14 and $10,278.94.

CAP was collecting the money for a lawsuit Prince previously lost over a music production contract.

But in the new documents, filed Thursday in L.A. County Superior Court, Prince says a judge vacated that original judgement in October, 2011 ... thereby erasing his debt to the production company.

So, according to the suit, CAP collected on a debt that didn't exist. Oops.

Prince is suing to get back his $116,228.12 ... plus interest.

Baby, he's a star.

I really want to know how this goes.

Interesting, for once P does not owe $$$.

That sum is less than 10% of his concert earnings. (per halfway decent show)

You dont think Prince has to pay for anything or has deals in the production of his craft? Or are you referring to the Prince rule of no contracts? If you believe that............

And if they do are they wrong? The reality is people did pay their hard earned money and did not get what was promised to them. Should Prince be excused from holding up his end of the bargain because he's Prince? Surely he doesn't want someone taking money from him (and rightfully so). Let's be clear. $116K is probably to Prince what $77 is to the average working person. This may just be karma.

I can't imagine Prince signing contracts for any reason, least of all music prouction. I am also surprised that Prince hadn't better hidden his accounts so that they would be shielded from debt collectors. He is sued so often, I would have expected he'd be more of a pro at dodging collectons.

Prince had an estimated net worth of between $100million and $250million in 2011, according to USA Today.

Prince should care more about the "soft values" in life.

this is from my/ a european's point of view, I suppose in the US it is okay to care a lot for $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

still, $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ is not the most important in life if you ask me.

Yes 100k is nothing to Prince, but I think its the principle of the matter. They took money that they should not have. I think any person who prides their empire no matter how rich would fight it.

I think they figured "Hey he wont notice if we took an extra 100k"

That's a little extreme aint it? His last album "20TEN" came out in, well, 2010. That's only 2 years ago. He may not release albums as often as he once did but a 2 yr gap is hardly not making records anymore!!!

I would agree with this if he paid his bills but there are countless examples of Prince never paying his bills until he is sued. Many of these by small independent companies that are depending on his $ not too mention when he doesn't pay his taxes those are the residents and students of Chanhassen that he is screwing over.

On top of that as mentioned he basically stole $77 from almost everyone here.
