Prince music in school Hi everyone. I just moved to Utah and I have a job teaching children in pre-school. I work at an all Caucasian school and I am Caucasian myself. Last week Thursday I decided to play kids The P man's first album and they loved it! They dance around and really enjoyeded the music and vocals. We listened to the full thing. Friday I play them Prince's self titled album and they thought it was great! I promised the children that we would listen to a P album everyday. I'm even printing out the song lyrics to teach them how to read better. Monday I play them his Dirty Mind album and I can wait. When I get to Purple Rain I'm going to show them the movie too. I'm really sick of hearing these children singing 'starships' and 'super bass' by Nicki minaj. They also sing music from the boyban One direction and I can't stand it one bit. I guess it's just time to play them some real good music. Don't you fellow P lovers agree?
Thanks! ....tha cream I make myself....in my bawlz.

I am a teacher myself, (yeah I know.. my english language is bad, but this is actually true):
when I was working some years back, I played some Prince music for the kids, most of them liked the songs, but they did not like the "person" Prince, too weird most of them said.
Songs I played for the kids included:
1999, Sign "O" The Times, Raspberry Beret. Prince 4Ever.

That's awesome that you're showing them some quality music, but you may want to think twice about showing an R rated movie to pre-schoolers. Please refer back to the reason why the explicit lyrics warning has to be put on album covers. What is your main problem?
To whom it may concern: I love you! Humankind..be both.

I brought Purple Rain and Donna Summer's Bad girls album at my highschool in music appreciation class. My teacher played it and the kids laughed their asses off. This was like 1996.
I went to a ghetto school.Keep that in mind. 2014-Year of the Parties

I hate it when people try to make other people like their music. If the kids like to listen to "starships" or "super bass" let them if it makes them happy. Isn't that what good music should do? You can introduce them to your taste in music but not tell them what "good" and what "bad" music is. They should find out what they like them selfs. You are a terrible teacher if you don't let your students find out what they like them selfs. I noticed schools and parents don't let kids think, they just listen to them and do as their told. Parents tell their kid what is good and bad but that is just their opinion. Good and bad has a different meaning to everyone. Go by this: Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-incurred immaturity. Immaturity is the inability to use one's own understanding without the guidance of another. This immaturity is self-incurred if its cause is not lack of understanding, but lack of resolution and courage to use it without the guidance of another. The motto of enlightenment is therefore: Sapere aude! Have courage to use your own understanding!
