Im doing an assignment in school focusing on Prince and the society in the 80's
Im analysing a bunch of songs and right now i'm analysing "Sexuality".

Now, what do you think is meant by the phrase "We live in a world overrun by tourists" ? like analytically and stuff?

I always equated tourists to superficial people.

People that want to have just short-term experiences without developing a profound involvement for anything?

I think David Bowie once called himself a "sexual tourist". He was referring to the experiments he had in the late-60s / early-70s with different types of sex (straight, gay, group etc.), but that he chose a strictly monogamous relationship in the end.

the are myopic and never really see or experience anything as they are trying to see everything.

Not seeing the world as they are to busy taking photos only to find out weeks later (pre digital cameras) that the photos did not come out.
