I don't really hear that with Beck. I like his last couple of albums, but they've contained nothing that he wouldn't have tackled before. You could probably pick 10-12 tracks randomly from any of his more recent albums and if you weren't familiar with the songs already you couldn't tell they're not from the same album. Like I've commented on the non-Prince forum, his vocals have started to sound really bored.

I like the guy a lot but I'm starting to think that he's indeed "played out". Hope he proves me wrong, but I'm not expecting wonders.

The vault does not matter. At least to Prince.

He releases whenever he feels teh need. I.e.: needs the dough.

If he cared about the music, the art, the quality of the old stuf he'd release some more of it. (without fiddlin', just as is)

While I do agree Rock and Roll Love Affair is not nearly as good as his 80's and Early 90's material, it's the best released Prince song since 'Guitar' in 2007. If he brings out a whole album with a similar vibe and quality I will be happy. J

so is there ANYONE who knows if there IS a new cd in the works.....the latest trend of artists is to JUST release tracks ....not necessarily FULL length albums

Exactly!!!! Just like LotusFlow3r was a Prince 3 disk set. Its just his way of releasing more product from his "Masterpieces " from the Vault..

in some ways: yes, Jughead is better.

I "like" Jughead when played live, the part with Prince singing, backstage, in a straitjacket.

I'm talking about the live video.

"R&R LA" is maybe the worst Prince single ever. And, also, one of the worst P songs, ever.

("Purple & Gold" wasn't a single was it?).

I don't think any manager in the world could do a good job as a manager for him. Prince is making the decisions, not the manager. He wants complete control.

tis thou right to disagree. yes i have seen him live, twice. once at a festival during his odelay era and also a few year back. both were fantastic.

however for me his last album sounded flat and a bit forced and i think he's approaching a period which can be compared to prince after lovesexy in terms of originality.

just my opinion of course.
