I kind of agree with this statement. At times, it seems his heart is no longer in it and can you really blame him. The music that's getting attention right now is crap and we all know and so does Prince. I'm sure he wonders how his music will penetrate and perhaps feels it's not worth it???

I also believe (whether you like it or not) that his JW religion has contributed to the lack of creativity over the years. His music and lyrics have been less that exciting lately.

I already have an account with Amazon in the US, and, when I see a price I know exactly how much will be deducted from my account without having to "do the math". I would probably buy it from overseas if it was announced that it would not be released here, but, I'm in no hurry to rush in & going to that much trouble only to see it available here a few weeks from now. But then again, back in the day, I always bought vinyl and never pre-recorded cassettes because I found it pointless to buy something on a format that I could record myself and have both the vinyl and a cassette for the same price. The only time I bought pre-recorded cassettes was during the early 1990s when vinyl was practically almost extinct and CDs and CD players were still too expensive. But to pay for a download? Never. Like you said, it's like paying for air. Hell, I've never paid for bottled water either because I see it pointless when you can get it for free out of the faucet and it tastes exactly the same.

But you had The Barkays, Zapp, and Cameo all over the radio back then and the boring "talking over a stripped down slow weak beat" shit was mostly underground. It's the exact opposite nowadays.
