What do y'all think is Prince's most covered song? I'm thinking When U Were Mine, Purple Rain, Kiss, Do Me Baby or When Doves Cry. Hell, I even heard a few versions of I Feel 4 U & Let's Pretend We're Married.

More people have covered "Purple Rain" than all the other songs combined, although many of those covers were done by major artists in live settings, and not put down on record.

chaka's version of feel for u might get the nod though. that was a biggie when i was at school, remember doing robotics to that at the school disco.

I quite like Cyndi Laupers version of 'When You Were Mine'. I'd say it qualifies as decent.

i wasn't counting nc2u as a prince track but i agree hers is the definitive version. in fact since 1990 i would say it's prince that's been covering her.
