This makes 2 years since the last Prince album came out and we are very pleased to present his new single "Rock & Roll Roll Love Affair", a catchy pop song with a pinch of country & soul which is already a classic.
"Rock & Roll Love Affair" is a preview of the next album.
Presented exclusively at various American radio stations a few weeks ago during the "Welcome 2 America" tour, the song immediately reached the number 24 on Billboard! The broadcast of this title in Europe had a direct effect and it is top in several different countries over seas now.
He played this song live on the Jimmy Kimmel show with a new NPG line-up
introducing an horn section with 11 members, a spectacular performance!

woohooo!! This might mean more singles being released, more videos & another tour

This song sounds so much better live! The studio version is just lifeless. Live, its got much more energy. Almost seems 2 different songs.

I must say though..I still wonder why Prince made this song? It's almost like he wanted to tell people. I am Prince, I can do whatever I want, whether you like it or not. It is almost like a country diss...lol

It's not like 'Rich Friends, Purple & Gold, or There Never Another Like Me...lol. Those songs I can not manage to listen to, I can listen to 'RNR' but it lacks soul and all of the things he talks about in the song. 'He believed in Rhythm and blues, and this thing called soul'. I don't feel it. It gets in my head easily, maybe cause it sounds smooth and it does not irk me. It also reminds me of 'Take Me With U, which of course is a classic! But it feels like Prince just wanted to tell us he can do all kinds of music.

To each is own, but everytime I listen to it, or more especially watching the video..I could not help to think out of all the videos to do..He choose 'RNR'. He did not do one for extraloveable but he did a video for this. LOL

I think he purposely wants people to be divded and show he can do whatever he wants, and while we already know that. He pretty much confirms it in great details here..

I don´t like this song and this is the first (but probably not the last) time I will have to skip on a new release, i.e. I am , for the first time ever, NOT going to buy an official release for the sake of completism. ( There´s already a bunch of CDs from previous years that I bought but couldn´t realy listen to for more than a couple of times).

That being said, now for something more positive:

1. Prince looks very healthy, fit and fine. Whatever he´s doing, he must be doing something right. I think from now on I should somehow try to become a very rich man and date girls half my age because I realize that that must be his secret recipe for eternal youth.

2. I don´t like the song but it´s not the first time that Prince releases a single that I don´t like, so it´s not the end of the world and some of the songs on Andy Allo´s album sound interesting, so maybe he is inspired again? There´s still hope. Songs like Yellow Gold should´ve been released on his own album but hey, it´s his decision. I´m just saying that I don´t take this weak song as an indication for his well of inspiration running dry. But yeah, he does seem very much out of touch.

Great song with a great tone scale chosen. (Happy tones)... makes your mood feel "fun with a hint of smooth" to it. The tone vibration resonates in the body (uplifting) effect.

Secondly, Mr. Nelson's fretboard on the guitar is like a wonderful chocolate "willy wonka bar" scrumpdilicious.

Just love that fret board.

Andy's guitar (sweet plum purple) liked that.

All the other musicians (simple class) Class Act!

Love the inception of seeing the instructments (let them speak too).

Now the overall feel (Baroque) The video set, clothes and overall feel is Baroque. I know, as I studied Baroque and competed playing Jean Pierre Rampal's Concerto in G. I practiced relentlessly and studied Baroque and the Renaissance (my favorite era of music) indepth in me thru and thru. PS: ended up with a superior rating, THANK the lord above. About drove everybody mad practicing it. Night and day...

I really do like (not love) this song. Its gets stronger with every listen.

I noticed his 1999 look around his neck which is cool to see again

The references to his longing for Allo is apparent in every shot of the two of them - like her reflection in his guitar the best and when she sings her lines with those lucious lips of hers

The video is produced very well...some gripes with its sometimes boring shots and editing but I can live with it.

Finally, the noise at the intro and outro that sounds like a helicopter arriving made me start thinking...

This is definitly the first single from his new CD and is his Guitar and Te Amo Corozon from the album...none of which were the strongest and best choice for first single

He alludes to other songs with the sheet music shown throughout including People Pleaser and leads one to think of other songs that are forthcoming and the ending of the video with him walking away and the movie projecter sound lead me to believe they are part of new songs.

My problem, I've always been slow to link his work to his romantic interests hoping for something less superficial in the lining.

I'm getting a warped fairy tale vibe with hints of old school drama from the song and video.

But the only glaringly obvious thing I could think throughout the whole video was.....

Where the hell is the fountain of youth that Prince has found?!?!?!

Its startling how young he looks.

The man is no spring chicken yet there is no sign of a line or wrinkle anywhere!!

His skin looks like velvet. We all know Mr. Nelson is quite fond of make up but it's just not possible.

He doesn't even have that weird look of surgery or botox or any other injected shit!

Help!!! I need some answers or at least just an idea of the secret-I could use some!!

On many recent pictures you can clearly see he's aging. But he is aging in a good way. He just looks like a grown man. But he uses alot of makeup, and covers his face with huge glasses. It does help quite a bit. Also the light from the film set is so hard on his skin that they will dissapear most shadows between lines on his skin. Makes it look more "flat". This together with the fact that he looks young for his age, makes him look even younger. Atleast healthier.
