If superconductor would have been a Prince album... Hey Org, After listening to the song samples of Andy Allo's superconductor on Amazon, (you can hear Prince's influence all over it) I couldn't help but think that it would have made a great Prince album. Agree? Disagree? What sayith the ORG?
Peace.

Some of the songs clearly need Prince on lead vocals... People Pleaser's cool and all as it is, but imagine it with Prince on lead vocals. It could be a song about him not caring what people think of him and how he doesn't wanna please his fans or record labels anymore... Then there are songs like Yellow Gold, that song is already awesome but just imagine it with Prince singing it! Then the biggest offender for not being on a Prince album is (in my opinion) If I Was King. Like seriously, WHY ISN'T THIS PRINCES NEW SINGLE! Like this with Rock n Roll Love Affair as a B-Side... I would be the happiest fan ever. I mean the song is litterally about a guy in love with a girl, not a girl in love with a guy... So why isn't a Prince singing about wanting to be a King? Like honestly, that doesn't make any sense... Maybe Prince'll come to his senses and take that song back like he did with Shh and Tevin Campbell. But if Superconductor was a Prince album, I would be a very happy fan. But I like the album as it is either way. Purple is the color of my heart,

Did Prince even write the songs you are talking about? From Princevault.com:
Superconductor is the second studio album by Andy Allo, her first on NPG Records, released on 20 November, 2012. The album includes six songs written byAndy Allo, and three songs co-written by Prince: Superconductor, The Calm andLong Gone.
Sounds like Prince can't 'take back' if I was king because it seems he didn't give it. RIP

Well played. I just personally find that the vocal styles on the song screams Prince though, and that when Allo lowers her voice around the 4:11 mark of the song that it would have seriously made more sense if Prince was singing it. Plus isn't the NPG playing on the entire album? Maybe Prince just didn't want to overemphasise his influence on the album so that people would criticize some of the songs without thinking of them as Prince songs so that if the songs seem to be popular, he could release more songs in that vain. It just doesn't click with me that Andy would have written If I Was A King since her previous album had no tracks remotely similar to it, and the song fits so comfortably in Prince's cannon. But if Prince didn't write the song, then he better consider covering it because it seriously seems like it could work for him. Purple is the color of my heart,

Prince vault.com certainly isn't gospel and has the occasional mistake but I've read similar reports about who wrote what elsewhere. But as ever, it's hard to be 100% certain on what is or isn't the actual situation. RIP

I like this. Prince releases an album, people say he needs a producer. Prince produces an album for someone else people say it should be a prince album. RIP

you are 'dead on it' - the fanbase is so diverse, spoiled and bitchy that there is no way everyone will be happy with anything he does

It's hard to tell from 30 sec snippets but Yellow and Gold and The Calm sound pretty nice. However, there's something about Andy's voice that isn't quite there for me. It's sounds a little "put-on" and disconnected. I'd like to hear a little more soul in the vocals I guess, since much of the back up music is dripping with it. So yea...Prince would be an apt choice for vocalist.
There's some different and longer snippets here that sound a little better.

The title track sounds pretty cool, too. "That's when stars collide. When there's space for what u want, and ur heart is open wide."

Thanks for that link. The longer snippets gives you a better idea what the album sound like.
I really like "When Stars Collide" [Edited 11/25/12 6:48am]

I really like the title track, but I feel like it doesn't fit with the rest of the album. It actually reminds me of this Lady Gaga song a friend used to like called "Disco Heaven". The vocal presentation is really similar. Purple is the color of my heart,
