Prince unauthorized vhs...... Man.....I would love to know the name of the song in the beginning of Prince unauthorized vhs documentary that came out in 1992 and is still one of the most relevant documentaries to date. It sounds like Prince is singing "shock dance" in the background in which I would love to hear the full version one day. here is a link to the vhs:

there is background music throughout the entire documentary even during the interviews and some of it sounds like unreleased Prince songs and there is even a part of the documentary where they show clips of the early videos like sexuality,1999, and raseberry beret while some house music played which sounded like something that was probably played at first avenue during the late 80's and all of these songs are very good.

I found this vhs at a goodwill earlier this year and had to buy it since it is as good today as it was when I snuck into my uncle's Prince collection under the bed back in 1992. | |

if you liked "Unauthorized" (and if it is the one I am thinking about made in 85-86 ish (with Duane Nelson) you should check out "Prince the Glory years" it has some great interviews with close associates. I assume it was authorized as it had loads of Prince songs in it.

Prince unauthorized vhs is a whole different story all together than the glory years especially for the background music alone. the music to the introduction is Camille singing and it sounds like he is singing "shock dance", believe me....you will know if you get a chance to see this documentary. I tried to find some clips but they are nowhere to be found and youtube had the entire show streaming about 3 years ago but those clips were gone in a matter of weeks.
