So I was playing "I'm Yours" and a man about my age says "wow that is rockin! What is the band?" I laughed as that was what Owen Husney said when he first heard Prince's demos. said... I said "It is not a band it is Prince." and he said "wow Prince rocks now." I said "Now? this is his frirst album 35 (yeah i know 34) years ago..."

Most people don't. I certainly didn't know before I became a fan. I think most people see him as a pop singer and not much else.

I thought of Prince as a keyboard guy for the first several years. I really didn't start thinking of him as a guitar player until well after "Purple Rain". Not that he wasn't a great guitarist, I just associated him with the synth-driven Minneapolis Sound.

I LOVE that song! Great drumming and guitar work. I play it frequently.

i searched for it, could not find it. I did find a theme song with a guitar with a simular effect but it was not prince much less I'm Yours

yeah, i did a little searching too and couldn't find any info about it. it's probably just the effect that you mentioned.
