I love Sufjan and I adore this cover! Not sure why it was taken down (although I'm sure Prince's legal team had something to do with it) but luckily I downloaded a pre-release version of his upcoming Christmas CD, which for some unknown (but glorious) reason includes this track.

For anyone who doesn't know Sufjan's work, I highly recommend all of it, particularly "Age of Adz." Trippy and gorgeous.

No confusion, no tears. No enemies, no fear. No sorrow, no pain. No ball, no chain.

So good! I wish it was longer as well.

And I echo theblueangel: Sufjan is amazing. I saw him on the Age of Adz tour a couple years back, and it was one of the best shows I've ever seen, cheesy dancing and all!

I wish I could hear it!
I do like Sufjan Stevens. I listed him as one of my favorite singing voices in a Non-Prince music thread, because I find his voice very soothing and familiar. I really liked his Christmas collections, not the typical Christmas album like Mariah Carey or Michael Buble. And apparently, with Alphabet Street on it, this Christmas compilation is not going to be typical either.

Yeah, all links ere down. But it's now on Spotify.
It's Ok, original the best of course. Also, if you don't know the original song, you might not like the cover at all because the original melody and funkiness are obscured, and it's electronic-y: that's what my daughter said, and she is not familiar with the original song, so there was "no melody" for her, but I could hear it because I know what I'm listening for.
