Popstar Delilah has revealed what it's like to be able to count soul legend Prince amongst her legions of fans.

Delilah ‘dreams of being the biggest artist in the world’ – and, with fans like Prince, who can blame her?

The stage siren, most famous for her vocals on Chase & Status’s Time, is pretty good at winning boys’ attention after revealing how the Purple Rain hitmaker came to invite her to join him on his recent tour of Australia.

‘Prince found me online through one of my videos,’ the Paris-born star told me. ‘I think it was the video for Love You So. He just said he wanted me to come and support.

‘I thought he’d been through a label or an agency but he hadn’t, it had literally come from him. It was insane.’

She added: ‘I played to 90,000 people in shoes that were too high. We’ve become really good friends since.’

The star, real name Paloma Stoecker, said of 54-year-old Prince: ‘He’s so humble and accommodating and sweet and always there to give me advice,’

She added: ‘He’s always watching what’s going on in my world and will call me up and say “Why’s there someone touching you in that video?” He’s been really amazing.’

She said bagging the icon as a fan ‘was the first time I was like “People are actually listening”. To have someone you look up to interested and who is an icon to be a fan of your work took me back.’

The 22-year-old decided to give fame schools like the Brits School and Sylvia Young a wide berth because she doesn’t do ‘well with institutions’.
Instead she’s carved her own road to stardom with her ‘daring’ catsuits.
‘When I started with Chase & Status I was very nervous and it was just about being comfortable and practical,’ she said.

‘Then I realised I was the only female on a tour with a bunch of boys and I needed to get their attention in some way because they were all so busy mosh-pitting they didn’t really care about me singing. I am getting more and more comfortable in my own skin so the outfits are getting more daring.’

However, some of her new-found admiration has gone a tad too far.
‘I’ve had a few crazy things,’ she revealed. ‘I’ve had people starting to get my signature tattooed on them. That’s quite scary. I feel hugely responsible.’

Delilah’s single Never Be Another, featuring Devlin, is out next month.

I like Delilah. She sort of reminds me of a cross between Christina Aguilera and Fiona Apple.

Prince's comment is just creepy, but after watching his galavantings with Andy this past year, I'm not surprised.

Delilah is actually quite good. The "inside my love" song is amazing and the video is jaw dropping - it's so sensual. I'd love to see them work together on a song.

I hope she stays far away from Prince until she is a household name. I quite like her and she's doing very well without his kiss of death...err I mean HELP lol

Awe I love her music and agreed she needs to stay away from Mr. Man. I'm not surprised he's calling her up though...heard he's also chummy with Lianne La Havas as well. I don't see him dating Delilah though...too edgy for him at this stage in his life and she probably wouldn't go for the JW thing.

We know he watches Youtube though to stay on top of music...even though he dosen't want his music uploaded
