but (afaik) MJ as great as he was: he never won an Oscar..

and btw,

in the summer of 1984, Prince had:

1. a single (When Doves Cry),

2. an album (Purple Rain),

3. and a movie (Purple Rain).

all was at the number 1 spot on the single/ album/ movie charts, all at the same time,

only previously achieved by Elvis Presley and The Beatles.

While I feel Prince never got the credit he deserved as far as awards go.

It doesn't matter to me,his talent is absolutely beyond compare.

Ito was the name of the judge on the O.J. trial.

The reference to Tito and the tissue seems to be to a Eddie Murphy sketch from the Delirious comedy routine. He made fun of MJ singing "She's Out Of My Life" live and always doing the crying bit during it ("Tito, bring me some tissue"). So, yeah, def an MJ reference there. Not that the rest makes that much sense to me.

I don't think there are any straight references to MJ on "Dreamer", but it's possible that he had him on mind with the "awards and accolades" stuff. Hard to tell. I'd vote "nay" though.

To be honest, I doubt any of those quoted lyrics are about Michael Jackson. Just because he says the word 'king' doesn't mean he's singing about MJ, although i'm sure he's well aware that some people will take it up that way.
