What vocal problems Prince had in 1993? If you listen to a bootleg called Rock Over Germany a recording of his 1993 performance you will notice a much different voice then Prince's usual.vocals are very raw and gritty so rock'n'roll.his deep voice is even deeper .I had seen a post about some vocal sickness he had at the time here on org but i can't remember.anyway even with those problems Prince executed amazing vocal versions of Purple Rain( closest to original) and The Beautiful Ones | |

in spoken word tracks such as irresistible bitch it's really noticeable. the DNA lounge aftershow in april '93 is another example of his laryngitis playing up big stylee. don't play me...i'm over 30 and i DO smoke weed.... | |

I remember when I saw him on the Act I tour(or was it Act II) that year. i can tell immediately when he started singing that he was sick & his voice was not all there. But the odd thing nobody else noticed in the audience but me.That is when i knew I was a real Prince fan. Because he later cancelled one of the dates on that tour run here in LA. Becuase he was ill. I know every note of that voice & he wasn't hitting them that night...  will ALWAYS think of  like a "ACT OF GOD"! N another realm. mean of all people who might of been aliens or angels.if found out that wasn't of this earth, would not have been that surprised. R.I.P. |

I like how no one noticed but you. What was it like to be the only real Prince fan in the audience? If being a real Prince fan means you can hear when his voice is off and you were the only one who noticed then there must have been no real Prince fans in attendance that night other than you.

yeah once you get over the shock of "victor" being sung by his low register its one of his best 90s aftershows. he sounds quite macho which translates to the music. the tower of power cover is superfunky. when he's goofing between songs he almost sounds "one of the boys"...almost.!
