I think the same about you
I think someone posted a pic of you that Imago edited? "Aren't you even curious? Don't you want to see the dragon behind the door?"

Why thank you!
Could you show me this pic you are referring too? There should be no pics of me [as an adult] on the org @ all. الحيوان النادلة ((((|̲̅̅●̲̅̅|̲̅̅=̲̅̅|̲̅̅●̲̅̅|)))) ...AND THAT'S THE WAY THE "TITTY" MILKS IT!

Wait, that isn't you? I'm confused, you seemed to be upset that Purp posted that pic, so I figured it was of you...
Nah, I wish though. I am only friends with two people on the org (when it comes to facebook) and that is only because I know them in RL.
My job is kind of serious about things, I could be fired for a lot of the stuff I post on here. For that reason I don't post pics or friend people on facebook.
BUT, I am usually willing to chat with orgers off Prince.org if you ever get bored. (like me, since my partner is dead asleep because of a long day and I have a lot of energy). "Aren't you even curious? Don't you want to see the dragon behind the door?"

Ooooooohh, okay. Sorry about that. When I first got here, people thought I was Imago [Which I am not], So PurpleJedi keeps the Imago alter joke going . That's a picture of Imago, not me. I am racially mixed, & the only picture I ever posted was me as a kid on an old photowhore thread .
Oh, okay. I understand. I was thinking that was the only way you could have even seen what I look like [even a little bit] was through KidaDynamite [Tif] on Facebook. الحيوان النادلة ((((|̲̅̅●̲̅̅|̲̅̅=̲̅̅|̲̅̅●̲̅̅|)))) ...AND THAT'S THE WAY THE "TITTY" MILKS IT!

I am African American, Irish, Native American, Mexican, and "French and/or German" (there seems to be some very bitter family disagreements about that)
I should do something nasty to Imago's picture, but I don't know how I could make it any worse "Aren't you even curious? Don't you want to see the dragon behind the door?"

Imago has made so many crazy gifs & photoshopped pics of other orgers, he could sure use some payback . I think many would be happy about you doing that actually. الحيوان النادلة ((((|̲̅̅●̲̅̅|̲̅̅=̲̅̅|̲̅̅●̲̅̅|)))) ...AND THAT'S THE WAY THE "TITTY" MILKS IT!

Destiny vs. For You > DESTINY Destiny has some beautiful songwriting, songs like Push Me Away, That's What You Get For Being Polite and Bless His Soul beat anything on For You, which, in truth, is a fairly underwhelming debut.
Off The Wall vs. Prince > OFF THE WALL Whilst "Prince" was a marked improvement on his debut and the first true signs of things to come, "Off The Wall" was in a whole other league. Nothing on "Prince" can hold a candle to DSTYGE, Get On The Floor, OTW, Workin' Day & Night, Rock With You etc. A rare example of MJ outfunking Prince.
Triumph vs. Dirty Mind > TRIUMPH Triumph is the best Jacksons album and really more like an MJ solo record, bridging the gap between OTW and Thriller. Songs like Walk Right Now, Heartbreak Hotel and Lovely One trounce most of Dirty Mind.
Thriller vs. 1999 > THRILLER Okay, it's starting to get tricky now. In one corner you have Billie Jean, Beat It, Startin Somethin and Thriller and in the other we have 1999, DMSR and Little Red Corvette. Actually, it's not so tricky after all. Thriller by a landslide.
Victory vs. Purple Rain > PURPLE RAIN No contest. Purple Rain is a pop masterpiece, Victory is best forgotten.
Bad vs. Sign O The Times > SIGN O THE TIMES As keen as I am on Bad (I consider Smooth Criminal to be one of the all time greatest pop songs ever written), Sign O The Times has far more substance, artistic growth and innovation.
Dangerous vs. Diamonds & Pearls > DANGEROUS No contest here. D&P is one of Prince's most uneven and uninspired efforts. Money Don't Matter 2nite and Live 4 Love are the sole redeeming features of D&P, but they're hardly in the same league as Who Is It, Give Into Me or In The Closet.
HIStory vs. The Gold Experience > HISTORY Both solid, if somewhat overblown albums. But the trio of TDCAU, Earth Song and the title track make HIStory an easy win for me.
Invincible vs. The Rainbow Children > INVINCIBLE Despite both albums obvious flaws, there's much to enjoy on both records, but on a track by track basis, there's probably more I like on Invincible than TRC.

That's how i'd probably call it, more or less.
1999 is better than Thriller though. DM is my favourite Prince album, got to be equal to Triumph. Some days i might think differently. i dunno..

1979, Prince was promising and was a good album, but Off the Wall was mindblowing, just one great dance track after another and it hasn't really dated. Seriously Off the Wall is tight, the hits and working day and night, burn this disco out, get on the floor, its the falling in love, I mean wow. Okay Sexy dancer and Bambi are great, but they are no working day and night.
1982, Its a tie I can't say one is better, but for different reasons, Thriller is the catchiest pop ever made, it oozes hits and the dance grooves are slick, plus theres the fact it was Michaels greatest period for dancing and the like. 1999 is the most experimental but coolest album, it had pop too but it had so much more, funk and unlike Thriller the sex in 1999 blew it past creamy. If Moonbeam levels, Lust u always and Extra Lovable went on it, maybe I would give this to 1999, but theres no denying songs like Billie Jean, Beat It and Wanna be starting something.
1987 Bad is brilliant, but just not as good as SOTT, the music on SOTT is the best he ever made and had so much more variety unlike Bad, as good as it was, sounded like the same music repeating itself. Bad, The way she makes me feel, Smooth Criminal again are mind blowing songs, but put them against If I was ur girlfriend, SOTT, Housequake and Adore and its no competition.
1991 Dangerous wins, a bit self indulgent but a lot of tight dance grooves and some amazing balladry and near gospel. Give in to me and Jam along with in the Closet and Who is it are again vintage MJ. Diamonds and Pearls is funky, but its very indulgent and MJ's rap guests are much better than Tony Moseley. Still I would say that Cream and Insatiable are superlative songs that could whip Jam's ass any day.
1995 TGE is tight Prince, some great rock and some of his most believable rapping whereas History has some great tracks and some filler, plus MJ was becoming a bloated shadow of himself by this stage. Scream had the line "Stop fucking with me" which is pretty cool, but in 1995 swearing dominated everything in dance music. TGE is full of mutherfuck this and that especially Pussy Control.
2001 Both albums saw the artists at their nadir, Michael wins this time as there was at least You rock my world and Butterflies which were good songs, whereas TRC is barely listenable with its sexist, racist and anti semitic lyrics. But Michael would decline in the 2000s whereas Prince would go on to lead a comeback and become a mature statesman of funk.
2010. Tragic to judge but the most interesting part of Michael was its sleeve. But now MJ had gone and we still have Prince who at least gave us the barely adequate 20 Ten but with several good songs.
Overall MJ 57/70 = 81% Prince 54/70 = 77% (But consider a lot of Prince's best albums were released in years with no MJ albums such as 1980, 81, 1984, 1985, 1986, 1988, 1992, 1994, 1996, 2006, 2009 etc) Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

In before the
Destiny vs. For You Off The Wall vs. Prince Triumph vs. Dirty Mind (Dirty Mind is one under-appreciated album. While I think neither of these albums are amazing, I enjoy how diverse and raw Dirty Mind sounds a lot more) Thriller vs. 1999 (I know Thriller gets played on the radio even nowadays and talked about to death...and there's a reason for it!) Victory vs. Purple Rain Bad vs. Sign O The Times 2300 Jackson St. vs. Batman Dangerous vs. Diamonds & Pearls (This was hard, but Gett Off, Cream, Insatiable, Willing & Able, Thunder, Money Don't Matter 2nite, even the title track - all commercially enjoyable and still have Prince's edginess in them) History vs. Gold Blood On the Dancefloor vs..........Kamasutra?? Lmao sorry Prince bad year! Invincible vs. Rainbow Children (One is hit or miss and the other is a real grower)
Like someone already said, some of Prince's best albums didn't get to be included in this contest - Parade, Come, One Nite Alone, Musicology, etc. Overall, it's basically this: MJ's worst album is still better than Prince's worst, but Prince's best album is far superior than MJ's best.
Btw I'm a big MJ fan too...so I don't think I'm biased at all

I know I'm in the fucking minority on this--MJ clear across the board.
I can't help it. I like Michael Jackson and was in to him eight years before I got into Prince.
I'll change it when I have five Prince dolls sitting around my house. Because I have five Michael Jackson ones right now.
I do like and appreciate Prince's genius and talent, but Michael Jackson is Michael Jackson.
No one crucify me please... I love a Man who:

Ok, at the time of album release:
1979: Off The Wall Vs. Prince. 1982: Thriller Vs. 1999. Tie 1987: Bad Vs. Sign "O" The Times. 1991: Dangerous Vs. Diamonds And Pearls. 1995: History Vs. The Gold Experience. 2001: Invicible Vs. The Rainbow Children.
This is actually a good thread because I don't think that I ever considered that there are MJ albums that I would rather listen to than Prince albums. However, out of the six years that are listed, MJ comes out on top in three of those years and ties with Prince in one year! However, I will say that The Rainbow Children is musically far more superior to Invincible. It's just that if you ask me what I would rather listen to, I find myself jamming more to songs on Invincible than I do TRC. Invincible was just such a soulful album, with tracks like Rock My World, Heaven Can Wait, Break of Dawn and Butterflies.

1979: Off The Wall Vs. Prince.
1982: Thriller Vs. 1999.
1987: Bad Vs. Sign "O" The Times. But The Black Album beats both.
1991: Dangerous Vs. Diamonds And Pearls.
1995: History Vs. The Gold Experience.
2001: Invicible Vs. The Rainbow Children.
I have never heard Invincible so The Rainbow Children wins by default.

I agree and I'm wondering if the people picking D&P over Dangerous have actually even heard Dangerous. But to be fair, Dangerous is a bit uneven also. The funky pop that Teddy Riley brought to the album leads straight to the sappy, corny, Disney pop for that particular audience.
Somebody on the org once described Dangerous as simultaneously being MJ's best and worst lp. I can undersatnd that. I'm sick and tired of the Prince fans being sick and tired of the Prince fans that are sick and tired!

Thing is that the (more or less) first side of the album, Jam to Can't Let Her Get Away + Dangerous, were a revolution: we couldn't realize it back then but the minimalist approach these songs has more or less defined everything that'd be dance music up to today, that is 21 years later. These tracks could have been released in 2001, no one'd have noticed: everything in 2001 sounded like these songs! Even today I ain't sure they'd sound dated. In that sense, and despite the more mundane 7 other tracks, these 7 songs make it Jackson's most innovative and impacting albums, and possibly one of the most innovative and impacting albums of all times. Kind of like what 1999 was in 1982, save that 1999's major influence over pop music didn't even last a decade, while the influence of Dangerous can still be heard today. This is why it wins over D&P in my book. D&P is fine but not in the same league. A COMPREHENSIVE PRINCE DISCOGRAPHY (work in progress ^^): https://sites.google.com/...scography/
