Haven't seen the whole thing yet, but Dance Electric is an outstanding track imo in whatever version I've heard so far.

The Dance Electric for me, but that version of RnR Love Affair w/hornz is great...way better than the studio version (which isn't that bad but not one of his standout songs imo, don't think it's meant to b anyway).

Those solos were amazing on the Dance Electric!!!!

Purple Music is my drug and I'm jonesin!!!!!

Didn't even finish watching the official RNR Love Affair clip from Kimmel. And this is coming from a person who actually likes the song. It was just a boring performance.

On the other hand, I watched a full version of a very shaky, grainy bootleg video of The Dance Electric, and there was a lot more pizazz to it than the primary performance. Too bad that wasn't televized in full. It was quintessential Prince.

A rhetorical question: "Dance electric" all the way!

Dance Electric has been a favorite of mine since Andre released it back in the 80's and I've listened to Prince's version a million times. My main email is DanceElectric@(something) and everytime I give it out, I always have to say it's a great unreleased Prince song. Nice that Prince is doing it live but I think that the horns take away from the "gloom" of the song. Love the lyrics and miss the Prince that was concerned that the end was coming. That fear gave us such great music.

It's with mixed feelings when I hear Prince bringing back unreleased classics such as Extralovable and Dance Electric. Something is missing. More power to those that hear it for the first time and love the newer versions but I miss that darker edge that were on the original. I wonder, is he reaching back and doing these songs because he realizes the greatness of these songs or is it that Prince is feeling the lack of a muse to inspire these kinds of great songs...? Maybe I should actually start a thread asking this question. While I'm thinking aloud, horns in general give a song such a different "feeling" and it takes away from the darker funk and reminds me more of classic Earth, Wind and Fire or even some George Clinton...Don't like cowbell, Don't like horns...Hmmm, maybe my new catchphrase...
