Most (sane) people with more than a passing interest in Prince will have most if not all of these albums. Why would they buy them again? Having NPGMC albums on cd would be great, but who's going to fork out for a 70 album set for the sake of a handful of albums? It's not exactly a realistic purchase for the casual listener either is it? Add to that the logistics involved. Who's going to release it? NPG records? Laughable to say the least. Nice pipe dream though.

What a funny idea, how about a bootleg box set instead. A good one is The Work 2.0, a collection of annual albums full of outtakes from 1976 to 2000 and 2006/07. Now you can own gems such as Nightingale, Electric Intercourse, Moonbeam levels, Go, Rebirth of the Flesh, My Medallion, With this Tear, Vibrator and the first version of Soft and Wet, hear the original Kiss and the Mazarati version Prince went nana over!, the first two versions of Empty Room and all the 500 other unreleased tracks. Other earlier versions include The ivault and Testament albums. For the more budget conscious and those who do not want 4 versions of U, perhaps the two discs that make up Perfect Unreleased Prince, 40 unreleased gems there.
The other people are right, most decent fans have all his or most of his studio albums in one form or another, and some of the protege stuff you would not want, Goldnigga? Most people can't stand Tony M, Carmen Electra, Mayte such albums would not be popular.
How about Prince releasing one solid and cohesive new album in time for Christmas, no sampling, sexy squeaky sex kitten vocals or albums or Jehovahnistic preaching or jazzique inspired instrumentals and we will all have a Xmas gift 2 remember. If nothing else, this list shows the incredible body of work Prince has created. And some of you still want more (of the same)? Oh, by the way, Michael Jackson said that James Brown was a genius and that's about the only thing he ever said that I agree with. Hope that answers RD's question. | |

I can't see why rereleasing the compilations (save The B-Sides and CD2 of Ultimate) and Girl 6.
And the list is incomplete without The War and the video albums.
And it ain't gonna happen because WB owns most of the shit at the moment.

I have the four Prince albums that were reissued on 180 gram vinyl ('Purple Rain','Dirty Mind','Controversy' and '1999')....wouldn't mind having more reisssues like this,especially SOTT and Lovesexy. | |

Springsteens first 7 albums (8CD's) are currently available in a mini box set for €16.

or the remastered versions of all of that and remixes (and outtakes) streaming (prefably in an app), and for some extra $$$ a special section with live performances... oh yeah internet is dead, so why not another option: Prince and WB could make a deal with Apple and release the remastered albums, remixes and b-sides on a 'Prince iPod' as far as I am concerned. I would certainly buy one, but cd's... no way. That's so nineties
