25 years ago - awesome.

Now he looks like an old white man dancing. Yeah he's older but his sense of movement\rythm seems to have left him too.

I love that he was loose like jagger, but tight like james brown. It gave him a combination of the funk tightness, and rock persona without looking too strict and locked in one place.

I don't know why this reminds me of the loopy Nazi character on The Producers... "ze Fuhrer vas a terrific dancer!"

Sign of the Times concert really showed off his moves. Now he's kind of limited to The Carleton dance, but that's fine. We don't want him hurting himself trying to bust a move like he used to =)

Really? Better dancer than James Brown and MJ? No, I disagree. Prince is an awful dancer. IMO, of course..

It's hard to rate him as a dancer...but his skill, move, and grace is top notch! Especially in the 1987-1995 years. =)

He was great. and can still bust a move. from the double spins, locking, breaking, and no one has ever hit a split like Prince... even james brown.

what made prince stand out as a dancer was that he was very agresive, and did almost everything through the feeling of the music and not through cheography.

A very gifted mover.

His moves today are more slick and fluent, but less acrobatic. However, i think he looks better dancing today.

His moves seem to be inspired by James and the Fred Astaire esq dancer, but at the same time, it's completely unique.

He's become my favourite dancer in popular music and at 54, he moves incredibly energetically, he could definitely out dance some people half his age.

In summary, the best dancer of the pop legends imo (i know that's subjective).

As compared to an old black man dancing?
O come on,. None of us moves like we did 25 years ago. We were in our primes. Our bones and muscles at their peaks. He still can cut a fierce rug.
Prince did an interview with a woman at Record World. They talked about whatever, then he asked her: "Does your pubic hair go up to your navel?" At that moment, we thought maybe we shouldn't encourage him to do interviews.

Lol He still seems to have a great sense of rhythm. It's just that his moves aren't as exaggerated or highly energetic as they used to be, and that's completely understandable.

Overall Prince's great - He's entertaining and creative but not among the most soulful dancers in the industry imo. It's not about what he's capable of doing physically but how he does it... To put it nicely, he's really loose about dancing - even with his backup dancers. Most of the time I get the impression he's just having fun with his dancing more than anything, and he seems to enjoy that creative freedom very much - but sometimes it looked distracted and poorly rehearsed.

Chris brown is immensely talented and he surpassed Usher as a dancer a long time ago imo. His biggest problem is he's got the best control within his moves only WHEN he actually tries. Still, Chris's best >>> Usher's best.

Great, not as good as he used to be, but he was dancing up a storm in Melbourne earlier this year, he did those body popping moves during The Dance Electric and when you see the Parade era shows with his splits and leaps. Plus all the sexy slinky moves he's famous for, hes not Fred Astaire or Michael Jackson, but he can sure move, to me hes a solid 9 and a half out of 10.

Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name
