Why isn't Prince in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame?

I'm sure this has been discussed before but I missed it. I'm curious as to what y'all think are/is the reason(s) Prince isn't in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. If anyone is a slam dunk, you would think it's his Royal Badness. Thoughts?

Because he is not eligible until next year. "For You" just missed the eligibility date this year.

My bad. I thought this was his 25th year. Let me change the quesion then. Do you think he'll get in his first year? Hopefully he can use it as a push for a new album if so.

By the calender it is his 25th year, but they had an odd date for eligibility and Prince missed by just a little while. Yes, I think he is a first ballot hall-of-famer.

If you want to keep up to date when Prince will be up for nomination into The Rock n Roll Hall of Fame -- hopefully 2004 -- check TheDetroitCrawl.Org's Roc...pdate page.

The Detroit Crawl Motor Babies were planning to see Prince inducted (this week, tonight) into the Rock Hall of Fame in a trip to Cleveland to watch the festivities in Cleveland.

But it looks like it will happen next year. The short list comes out in July and the actual inductees list comes out in October-November later on this year.

There are so many cool acts out there, including Prince, that should get the nod, in the 2004 class, like Van Halen and The Cars, MC5, and so on.

Once the Rock Hall Foundation selects Prince to be in the Hall of Fame, you are sure to see The Detroit Crawl in Cleveland for the simulcast.

Baby eye count the days ...

ladies and gentleman: THE REVOLUTION.

my prediction - at the 2004 R&R Hall of Fame induction ceremony, we'll see a Revolution reunion, just like The Police this year.

Seems doubtful - it won't be Prince and the Revolution inducted, but rather just Prince. The Police had a reunion because the Police were inducted. Had it only been Sting, there wouldn't ahve been a Police reunion.

I am cautiously optomistic that P will get in on 1st ballot. I am pessimistic that he'd even show up at the induction ceremony.

2004 marks the 25th full year for Prince, and also the 20th anniversary of Purple Rain.

I think that there will be something special in the works for Prince's induction.
