Prince Poll for 1990s now up!!!

After some effort i've managed to get the poll for the 1990s material completed! I did have to make some decisions/omissions though.

1. There is no Vault or Crystal Ball. The reason being because the poll wouldn't allow me the space to include them without going haywire. However, strictly speaking they are compilation albums. Unlike say Come or Chaos and Disorder which are fully fledged albums. I wish they were there but in a sense they don't belong in the poll.

2. The omission of Exodus. The reason for this being that it is strictly an NPG album despite Prince's involvement. New Power Soul is included as it a Prince album in all but name and people seem to regard it as one of his(unfortunately!)

3. The inclusion of the non-Prince tracks on Graffiti Bridge are there because if i took them out it would give a distorted picture of the album as a whole, especially in the album rankings.

4. The absence of The Rainbow Children, One Nite Alone and Xpectation were due to the poll only allowing me a certain amount of entries, they were originally included. However they were all released from 2000 onwards which works in this polls favour.

Finally i know there are a couple of typo's..oops!

I voted... Amazingly, as an album, Graffiti Bridge is in the lead.

Its fascinating.

It's truly amazing how different fans can feel about Prince's music. I don't think anybody will agree with much of anything in regards to his best work.

Just a note. Dont hit ballot again if youve already voted. The program logs your IP and will erase your previous vote. So i guess its fam proof!

I'm saving the results of this poll to show the next person who dares to compare the 80's Prince with the 90's Prince. Start at the very bottom of the results and read some of the CRAP that was released in the 90's. Scary. Thank God the 2000's have picked up some.

Not as many people have done the 1990s poll as yet and from doing it myself i can maybe see why. So much of his 1990s stuff was so uninspiring. At times it felt like a chore filling in some of the ratings! What did other people think? I think most of us agree that his 80's material was superior but reading the top20 of the 1990s really brought home to me how much so.

Also what other polls do people want to see? I have a host of stuff typed out on notepad. From B sides to unreleased, alternate takes. Also the Vault, Crystal Ball and NPGMC stuff(thanks ian!) which comprise all his other released material. Is it worth doing a 2000 poll yet as its only three albums old.

Eh... I somewhat disagree with the big opinions here. Yes, there was some really stinky shit from the 90s, and the albums weren't nearly as consistent...but I'd still say the absolute best top twenty songs from the 90s could stand shoulder to shoulder with top twenty from the 80s. But that's just my opinion. Besides my opinion is much different anyway, for I don't think Purple Rain or Sign of the Times (the songs) would come near his top twenty of the 80s...

Come is my fave 90s prince album behind Gold. In the album standings it's fourth and if it wasn't for Orgasm bringing it's average down somewhat(its voted worst song) im sure it would've got second place. Which would've been a massive surprise.
