before he was a musician did he ever have a "regular "9-5 job?

I know he became a musician while pretty young but did he ever have a anotherjob to help him finance his musical aspirations.

I heard he worked part-time in a five-and-dime and his boss was Mr. McGee.
The Census Bureau estimates that there are 2,518 American Indians and Alaska Natives currently living in the city of Long Beach.

I doubt it. I read some bits about Prince not really getting out of the house much because he was so focused on his music even then.

subject came up before (as do most topics here) someone actually said they were from minneapolis and the line from raspberry beret was autobiographical. I've never read anything in the many books I've read about him having any kind of a job other than music though. Maybe he worked a few days here and there, you know, teens do stuff like that all the time.

Wonder if it was the same five-and-dime store where. Bryan Adams bought his first real six string?

I heard somewhere he used to do a bit of part time work at Christmas time in department stores. Might be just a rumour?

But a real answer is: It was not a mormal job, but he and chris moon made radio spots. There may well be some never before heard prince songs (I think all instrumentals) sitting on some shelf in the MPLS/ST. P area.
