"We need a Purple High. Turn it up!"

Caught myself listening to "All the Critics Love You in Montreux/Housequake" from the Montreux Jazz Festival earlier and realized that today is indeed the fourth day of November. I haven't checked previous postings yet, but if you have a quick answer to the significance of this day, let me know. Also, I love the way he blended the two songs in Montreux.

If you only listen to that song once a year then yes. If you listen to it 10 times a year then it's a 1 in 36.5 chance.

I don't know exactly when this song was recorded, but interestingly, November 4, 1980, was election day in the US.

Maybe the Purple High refers to Red and Blue (Republicans and Democrats) coming together...

I always felt this song & Purple Music kinda compliment each other, Purple Music could have been a cool B side if he released All the Critics as an A side

My favorite live version was it's rocking preview at 1st Avenue in 1982 8:00min
