Let me applaud you for your comments, and the way in which you expressed how Prince came across in that interview. You hit it on the mark. [Edited 9/22/12 13:22pm]

My devotion? Well it looks like your delusions have finally overtaken your mind. Your comment is not really about you believing I'm a devoted fan, it's the fact that I ruffled your feathers by not agreeing or seeing things the same way as you, and that just pisses you off and raises your blood pressure. I'm so happy I made your day, and thanks for the blessings. [Edited 9/22/12 14:28pm]

There I was, genuinely trying to comment kindly towards you, and then you throw that same old, banally-overused-on-this-site, word back at me. And it's always the most daft people in these forums who always seem to include some variation of "delusion" in asinine attempts at retorts like this. Pot, your metal is so black, you look dark blue in sunlight.
And look at the rest of what you wrote. All of that disjointed jabber because I sincerely hoped you, one who exemplifies Prince support and fanaticism around here, can meet and receive a little gratitude from this man you somehow understand and incessantly defend. I mean, if other randoms in the world can get always his attention, why not you? But, forgive me for expressing that. 'Cause really, as everyone knows, since you're not a peculiar-looking man, or a bland female between the age of 18-30, that would never happen if your life depended on it anyway. All that jibber jabber you just wrote clearly defines you. If anything you come off like a fanatic attacking me for responding to an orger who has a reputation for coming off like an obsessed fanatic, spewing venom, 24.7 because a particular musician is not kissing his ass and giving him what he wants. Says a lot about you, doesn't it, coming after me for responding to his post. And please, cut the phony-ass bs 'bout you were throwing me a compliment, you're full of shite, and I'm not buying it. At least be honest about it. No one forces you to read my comments and shove it down your throat. You make that choice on your own. Now I've already wasted 2 minutes of my time giving you my attention, so with that being said, I will ignore your nonsense from here on in. Have great and wonderful evening. Smooches!

Possibly, Prince means this in relationship to quality standard. What are you outraged about today? CNN has not told you yet?

Prince also recanted that statement. What are you outraged about today? CNN has not told you yet?

Wow that's a broad generalization. All the Great Singers usually were/are just as hands on with the band as would a regular musician. The singers who act like Divas more than anything else usually don't have much talent outside of their favorite belting note and don't last too long. The public just sees the glitzy side of singers, but a lot of the big time singers were accomplished pianists and arrangers in their own rights. So I think you should stop looking at these little wannabes and consider who REALLY makes it in the industry as a singer. Things like American Idol and X Factor don't count as really making it because it's so easy to be forgotten once off the show if you don't have talent and business-sense beyond karaoke singing.

Hilarious. She "might" be getting money from the illegal uploads on YouTube? That's the best excuse you can come up with?

Nice strawman you got there.
Hey, let's see which of us has posted most on the Org in the past 24 hours. Or 7 days. Or past month. Or past year. Methinks that would be a good measure of determining who can be labeled an "obsessed fanatic".
Oh, and you are the one attacking people. You attacked me, whereas I simply pointed out holes in your nonsense.

This is the best interview Prince ever had.It is an absolute "MasterPiece".Prince is a very gifted genius....He was so honest & cleared up all the nasty comments made about him on this hater site. It proves he secretly comes here. Glad he decided not to release his new "Masterpieces" until the dead music industry is in a better state. They would only get lost. Better off in "The Vault" until the industry changes. He cleared up a lot. [Edited 9/23/12 10:31am] will ALWAYS think of like a "ACT OF GOD"! I know it is broad but I think it's true, singers do not have to study in quite the same way as other musicians. I know for me, singing has taken about a tenth of the work that playing piano does and I'm still a much better singer than piano player even though I've had to work much, much harder at piano playing. It does depend on the person though, Frank Sinatra was very deliberate with his singing and music while dean martin just showed up in the studio, sang and left. I stand by my statement, i've been watching singers for a long time, they are a different breed by and large and are much more interested in the glitz than the hard work. You wouldn't happen to be a singer would you?

Prince - Prince's career freedom24 September 2012 Prince's career freedomPrince embraces the ''freedom'' he's enjoying late in his career, now he has full control of his live band and no record company pressure. Prince embraces the ''freedom'' he's enjoying late in his career. The 'Purple Rain' hitmaker has always looked forward to a time where he would have complete freedom over his career, and believes now he has complete control over his live band and no record company pressure he believes he has achieved it. He told the Chicago Tribune newspaper: ''I don't have to record to eat or to get out of debt or to pay my taxes. I looked forward to the day I could do this. ''Freedom is an interesting thing. You have to work really hard to get free.'' There was a time when Prince was regular putting out records each year - releasing three new albums in both 2003 and 2004 - but he isn't planning a new record any time soon, as he believes it is not the preferred format anymore. He added: ''We're in a singles market again. It's crazy for me to walk into that with a new album.'' Prince, 54, also remains unimpressed by the way technology has compressed music to small electronic files and onto small devices, which restrict sound quality. He said: ''Young people have decided they like to listen to music in a certain way, through ear buds, and that's fine with me as long as it doesn't bother them that they're not hearing 90 percent of the music that way.''
Prince Changes Setlist To Avoid Nervous BreakdownPop superstar Prince changes his setlist at every gig because the monotony of playing the same songs night after night left him on the verge of a nervous breakdown. The 1999 hitmaker has become well known for playing a wide variety of songs from his vast back catalogue during his stage shows, and he now admits he has to keep changing his act to stave off boredom which drove him to despair in the 1980s. He tells the Chicago Tribune, "I nearly had a nervous breakdown on The Purple Rain tour (in 1984) because it was the same every night. It's work to play the same songs the same way for 70 shows. To me, it's not work to learn lots of different songs so that the experience is fresh to us each

This is comical. Frustrated children just learning how to debate shout out sophomoric echos like that, lol. Alas, another example of that inane type of repetition I referred to previously.
And since you don't discern well, I'm not concerned with what you believe or not, but again, I meant what I said initially, wholeheartedly. There was no snideness intended, as I feel that way about all people like you who still conjure up protective reasoning for everything regarding what I call Prince Fantasy Land. The only underlying message I did not explicitly state however, though it was certainly implied when I responded to your ironic reply to that other poster, which I highlighted, is: I feel sorry for you.
[Well, the load-bearing walls of your misemployed condescension just spontaneously exploded. They can't be rebuilt either. Also, you're not Kim Fields. The term "smooches" was only cool when she said it.] "You put water into a cup, it becomes the cup...Now water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend." - Bruce Lee

For goodness sakes, grow up. You sound like you just left high school, and can't leave the bullying behind, with your silly, childish behavior. You're talking out two sides of your mouth, claiming you wasn't being snide, yet insulting and making accusations of me at the same time, in both your posts. Let it go and get over me. You don't like my opinions here, that's fine.. I'm not going to play into your baiting nonsense any further. This is my last response to you. Enjoy your day.

Yep. And proud of it lol! To become a really good singer is a whole bunch of hard work, but most people don't really see that. Most of the work occurs at home by yourself just listening to yourself constantly getting it wrong until you finally get it right and then still practicing that thing until it's not just right but perfect...like any other instrument. And because you use your vocal cords to talk too, you have to be a good judge of not pushing yourself TOO hard or else you won't be able to talk or you'll get nodules (and sound like Mariah Carey does nowadays). On top of that, you have to deal with elitist musicians who think you don't know what you're talking about because you may not have the correct terminology. Personally, my voice is my main instrument, but I also play piano/keyboards/synth on top of writing, producing, and arranging all of my material. So I stand behind what I said that just because of the glamorous façade singers put up, doesn't mean that we don't work just as hard. If it was so easy, then everyone would be a great singer lol. And honestly, it's part of the job to make it seem like it is easy. That's the entire POINT. If you look like you're struggling and it's not natural, people don't want to pay their hard-earned money to see you. That's the absolute truth for a vocalist...and really any type of instrumentalist. The fantasy is more important than seeing the hard work behind the scenes (choirs, vocal coaches, self-study, etc).

The references to Mozart (Prince's) and other icons (the author's) provide Prince with the cover to avoid hard questions. What about the music clubs? What about the suits over nonpayment? What about follow-up to his reference to longevity and stars who aren't around anymore? Was anyone else surprised to hear him characterized as having been a JW for two decades?
