The song is catchy, I feel like the song is more of a summer roll down your windows song. He should've released it earlier

Knew that would happen fast, but, DAYUM!

It is exactly the point. Tamar's album never got released. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

One of the first single's he's put out in a while that didn't have to grow on me. Liked it on the first listen.
Agree that this should have been released in the spring/early Summer. Change it one more time..

Just caught it from the beginning. I agree with one of the above posters, it's a song you listen to while driving with the windows down, but with a warm, crimson sunset added to that.

she believed in fairy tales and princes he believed the voices coming from his stereo -he believed in rock and roll
she left her past and those lilly white fences and headed out to hollywood in search of her soul but she had to pay the toll (yes she did)
they were bound to find each other he needed proof, she needed a brother that's when stars collide when there's space for what you want and your heart is open wide
wait a minute
he gave up women for the stripes of the road and learned the meaning of grace that's when his cup overflowed and she said: "hello"
he said "my faith keeps me from willin' but you know that i'm able and if there's some room i'd like to sit at your table". she said "it's tight, but i think i can fit you in"
this kind of love don't come from a prayer ain't talking rebound, born of despair yellow sun rising on their bodies in bed (?) two people in love, with nothing but the road ahead
ah yeah, oh hoo. oh oh oh oh ooh oooooh let's go
she believed in fairy tales and princes he believed in jazz, rhythm and blues and this thing called soul he believed in rock and roll hear me
she wanted to see her name appear on the big screen he just wanted to hear her scream his name can you scream my name? do you know what i mean?
this kind of love don't come from a prayer ain't talking rebound, born of despair yellow sun rising on their bodies in bed (?) two people in love with nothing but the road ahead
rock, rock, love affair rock, rock, love affair rock, rock, love affair

Prince has a new look and a new song, and both fall squarely under the category of old school. Minnesota's royalist rocker – who has employed more straightening techniques than Michele Bachmann’s husband, Marcus -- debuted a surprisingly natural, retro afro look on ABC’s “The View” this morning. On the show, he chatted with super-fan Sherri Shepherd, actress Rosaria Dawson and the rest of the gab queens about his upcoming “Welcome 2 Chicago” residency and especially about the charity involved in those shows, Rebuild the Dream. The new/old hairdo was the talk of Twitter, though. Super-duper fan Questlove tweeted, “Whoa!!! is Prince rockin' a baby fro on The View??!!” The other “View” guest, by coincidence, was Prince’s former governor, Jesse Ventura, plugging a new book. Wonder what that backstage powwow might’ve been like.

I preferred it when it was called "Take Me With U" and had a chorus.

It sounds like a Christine McVie Fleetwood Mac song.

I like it. I like the lyrics. I like the synth. I like the way he sings it. I like that it chugs along like a good driving song.
The only thing that i find kinda jarring, but maybe intetionally so, is the "Take Me Me With U" cues.
But overall I like it. I think this type of tune will more likely convert new fans than than the other stuff of late. I like it, what can I say.

"she said "it's tight, but i think i can fit you in"
I can't believe he sings that. Cool line though..
or is it I just have a dirty mind?

his hair looks much different from the photos of the video shoot, looks like he has more in the others
this song has similar feel to his 20Ten album

Okay, I waited another hour and still nothing at the "top of the hour". I'm done listening to this nonsense.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
It basically sounds like a bunch of his other songs all at once, Take me With U/The One u Wanna C... even Vicki Waiting or Willing and Able....
but it's a bit crap really isn't it? oh well. [Edited 9/17/12 12:14pm]

very listenable. I hope this is the precursor to reallt good new material. First thing that has caught my ear from him in a while.

blasphemy. | |

Is it just me or is the synth line almost the same as Rootie Kazootie from Madhouse 24 95 version
Also I can hear melody lines from, Girls & Boys, Take Me With U and Raspberry Beret
All in all I like it, One of his better mixes doesn't sound as rushed, little bit more polish on those horns (make them real) and it would make a great little driving track)
