How would Sting have more money than Prince? I guess the Police did sell quite a few records, but still seems like a stretch.

Prince is still the stand out since he is the only one independent & runs his own career....

Imagine if he marketed himself properly and took care of his legacy with remasters, concert dvd's, etc.

Madonna, as much a businesswoman as an artist (maybe more?), comes in at $650 million, according to this site - http://www.therichest.org...net-worth/

Maybe that's an insight into skywalker's question, about what Prince would be worth had he focused and invested into the business side of his enterprise.

Then again, if Prince is truly doing what he wants, when he wants, all on his own terms, then $250 million for following your passion and doing what you love, regardless of any outside criticism, is pretty damn impressive.

I looked at the link provided by Chiquetet and it matches with one from the first post, we can call him a thousand and one names but he laughs all the way to the bank. All of the earnings from his tours from the past three years goes directly to him instead of a " BIG " record company, not too shabby for Mr. Nelson.

Leaving Madonna off a list of rich singers is pretty bad. And since when is Gene Simmons a lead singer? Gene plays bass and sings backup, Paul Stanley sings lead on most KISS songs.

David Bowie has considerably more money than Prince. In fact, back in the early 1990's there was a brief time when he had more money than McCartney due to some sweet business dicisions.
