I always thought the natural look on dark guys (& girls) looked sexy. I wish I saw it more often. Peace in the House of Prince.

Yeah, same here. He no longer impresses me with what he says. "Do you really know what love is?"

I'm sure your world is falling apart; nobody worships your has-been wacko hero anymore. "Do you really know what love is?"

I totally hear ya and agree. I have been waiting for Prince to return to chicago for along LONG time.. and I have pretty good seats too .... so when I saw him on the View I was kind like... "oh"............. Usually I am going crazy with "lust"... hmm we shall see how he looks in CHI TOWN.. he seemed very "bored" on the show.. hope he is keeping his PEP for our shows...
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
This kinda makes me sad tho.. cause lets face it.. alot of us fans are with in 10 years older or young than he is.. WE could be Dead before HE is.. WHY not release all your music now for the folks who love you and have supported you year and year.. Most of the kids/people in another 20 years or so won't care less about him....
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Maybe some one can help me here (and sorry bold is locked again) sigh..... Yeah its fixed.. LOL Prince said he wants to HELP the Middle Class & Lower class people of Chicago by getting everyone together to work together etc.. Ok................... I"m a Middle Class American............. SO ~~~ How is making me pay $150+ dollars for good seats and going to his concert gonna help out MY situation??? If he cared about the lower/middle class folks, he would do a show to help everyone relax and have fun and come together....... for like $25 a seat and then have donation boxes all over for Money or Food or things like that............. The only thing that is gonna really help "us" is lower taxes, lower gas prices lower insurance costs and more/better paying jobs...
Also.. is anyone else a TAD worried these shows MAY end up being alot of preaching and pushing the "case" Just sayin'.............................

You have a very good point there, and paying such a lot of money makes no sense whatsoever. This is another prove that it's just a publicity stunt and nothing else. If he was so worried about it, he'd charge less.
No, it will not end being a lot of preaching in the shows...don't worry about that. Prince I will always miss and love U.

Prince isn't making anyone buy $150 seats...ticket prices start at less than $40. If someone wants a good seat, that's up to them.
I would imagine it would be rather difficult to raise a substantial amount of $ to donate if every seat was only 25 bucks. The venue has to be paid, insurance, taxes, equipment, musicians, etc, etc,...
I don't think the objective is for people to have fun for only one night and go home, it's an ongoing grassroots effort to educate and empower people to rebuild communities long term and their platform addresses the issues Orion listed here...

Like he said on the show, it's about putting people with problems in contact with those offering solutions so they can work together. Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

ExactlY! People like him having problems paying his taxes etc..and those offering solutions to pay him huge money for the ticket prices, so they can work together. U put it very well! Prince I will always miss and love U.

So you think Van Jones is paying his taxes??? Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

What are you talking about? I'm talking about Prince, I don't care who Van Damn is. Prince I will always miss and love U.

I was explaining the purpose of the fundraising and you were trying to be funny...which fell flat as usual. Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

The purpose of the fundraising you explained does not answer Orions question. He charged everybody little at LA gigs, tickets are more expensive this time. It's the same purpose. Besides, taxes are money owed to gov., money that gov. needs for people. His failing his obligations, and talking half truths, so Orion is right in what he/she says. Prince I will always miss and love U.

NOT true..we are sacraficing alot to go to these shows and see him. and who the hell wants nose bleed seats??? What fun is that?? And do you guys really thinking people are gonna "come together" and talk and work on solutions to better our situations at a CONCERT? Hell no.. everyone will be goofing around and partying and drinking/smoking what ever... just for the music.. that is all I am saying.. he should just say he is doing come concerts and a bulk of the money is going to Charity. period.......
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Gang, don't get me wrong.. I DO understand a bit where you are coming from and what you are saying... really.. I just think like was said above WHY was the LA tickets so cheap? And even alot of GOOD seats were cheaper.. now not saying that EVERYONE in LA has money.... cause they don't.. BUT there are alot of stars etc that live out there.. and there were PLENTY at the shows... THEY could afford tons of money for tickets.... yet here in the Chicago land area.. we get rocked with pretty high ticket prices. and whats the deal with the VIP seats? I mean $500 Each????????? come on.. that is just insane...... Sure you get a few little quirks.. but My gosh.. that is nuts.. in this economy.. Wow... and as I said below.. to be able to go to these shows we had to really put our necks on the line and even SELL a few things....... when he came in 2004 best tickets were like $75.. that was so sweet.. I just hope he puts on a great show and is his usual self...

Prince has a band & bills to pay.In this case a 21 piece band. When he was here in La it was during the height of the failed economy. Plus he had 21 nites to sellout seats..There we're special seats reserved for the rich & famous & the vip tickets we're where they we're at. This tour isn't going on every week. It cost to put that mega symbol stage together. The money is well spent. Get over it!!! will ALWAYS think of like a "ACT OF GOD"! N another realm. mean of all people who might of been aliens or angels.if found out that wasn't of this earth, would not have been that surprised. R.I.P.

I am sure Prince plenty of money to pay bills.. and YOU get over it.. we are just talking about some stuff... No need to get yourself all huffy.... geez...

I used to chair a fundraising mixer for a non-profit org where tickets were $25 for years, then it went up to $40, years before that it was $15. The change had a lot to do with different venues, different bar guarantees that had to be met, different fundraising goals that we wanted to reach, etc. Information that our ticket buyers will never know.
I say this to say that you're making gross assumptions based on what you or I don't know. To say that because tickets were $25 in LA and people in LA are rich, therefore Prince has to always sell tickets that are cheap, everywhere else ,forever and forever, without taking into account all expenses that must covered to break even, what is the target goal for this fundraiser in terms of revenue and how much will be distributed.
Yes shows in 2004 were cheaper, yes the LA shows were $25, which at one point I believe Livenation almost pulled out because it became cash cow from I recall. But the average ticket price for good seats for concerts in general are $150. Be glad this is not a Madonna concert where folks are shelling out $300+
Lastly, no one is forcing anyone to do anything. For the first Welcome 2 America tour I made the choice to buy $60 tickets and I had the time of my life. [Edited 9/19/12 18:11pm]

You shoulda seen what we paid for the concert before the Super Bowl in '07, only to have him go to London afterwards and charge only 31.21
Seriously though, the prices have to be enough to pay the expenses and cover the donation. I'm sure it'll be well worth it and I wish I could be there....heaven knows when he'll finally come back this way.
Have fun! Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

I have NO doubt it will be fun.. but Its just kinda silly tho when he makes it sound like he is doing everyone such a huge favor by doing this show.. and actually he is really Not.. its a concer when it comes right down to it... say it like it is... alot of muscians give huge hunks of money to charities from their show... not a big deal...
