i'm just putting this thread out here as a counterpart to the one which has turned into a prince bash-fest.

how the freak do any of you know enough about prince to even comment on his personality?

have YOU ever met him? ever said hello? ever spent enough time to actually get to know him?

are you aware that his attorneys do things to protect his interests without his direct knowledge?

are you aware that dickheaded bootleggers on the internet have been trying to and have been, stealing from him for years now? can you imagine how frustrating and hurtful that must be?

do you understand the fact that prince does not have to live his life to please you?

are you expecting prince to eradicate evil and stop industrial pollutants and environmental destruction and bring world peace?

is your own life so sadly lacking that you need to come to an internet website where every little thing a pop star does is something you take PERSONALLY????

Totally agree. I don't think he's an A hole, I don't really have a reason to think so. He might be stubborn and bullheaded, but isn't everyone to a certain extent? Not to sound childish but maybe as fans people should spend more time appreciating all of the art he has given to us for the past near 34 years instead of complaining about everything thats "wrong" about him now.

But I guess orgers will be orgers. They all love him despite all the crap they spew about him anyway.

Thank you. I'm sure Prince can be an asshole at times but isn't everyone several times a day. What gets me is how some people who've never even met the guy can take what he does soooo personally. He's not your daddy. He's some random guy who happens to be a musical genius. But he owes you nothing.

I think he is. I came to that decision after a long line of things he has done publicly to earn that title from ME. I am not going to try to convince others that he is an asshole and I also wish I did not feel that way.

I have been able to separate my personal feelings about him as a person from the music. It will always be a part of my life.

Love your thread. It seems some fans are the only passengers riding on the negative train 24/7, and being miserable seems to be the only sunshine in their lives. I'm not surprised that some fans, often times many diehard fans, come across as though they think they can put Prince in their back pockets, take him out like a wind-up doll, and control the strings to make him do whatever they want him to do or be, as a musician/performer.

If Prince allows the opinions of 100 fans to discourage him from making music, then good, he shouldn't.

The people here on the Org do not represent even a tenth of his fanbase. Most of the people I know personally who are Prince fans don't even post on this site. To think he would punish those fans to get back at a few who don't sing his praises is sad to me.

I'm not sure i have to like him, i'm an adult, when your grown you've seen people far better than rock stars do what they want to do to get that paper. I dont buy his shit because his business model makes it practical to steal it.

Not liking someone's business model which doesn't hurt you in any way i.e. doesn't affect your income, doesn't mean they deserve to be labelled. If you don't like the music, fine but we should as a society be welcoming diversity not labelling the people who do things differently.

Last week a Co-Worker who i can best describe as a 35 year old adolescent who still tours with his garage band made a crack about Prince....and got no response from me. I'm not going to waste my time defending him when that clown takes a shot at him for "assless pants" because Prince himself created the situation where he can be minimized in this way.
