Black Sweat should've been a hit.

It's not the best song he's done in the past 10 years, but it was the better of his radio singles.

Especially since Justin Timberlake came along later that year and had a huge hit album pretty much just ripping him off.

To me, Black Sweat sounded current and still like Vintage Prince.

I agree, although to be honest, that high-pitched synth squeal he used got annoying after a while.

My most recent let-downs are "Cinnamon Girl" and "Chocolate Box". Both were decent songs with cool videos.

The problem was the boring ass video. It was sooooooo boring.

How the fuck does one work up a black sweat sipping coffee and making stinky faces. lawd, Prince.

I always wished Mountains and I Wish U Heaven had been more widely embraced, though I suppose they're not for everyone...

Well if I'd had my way, "Take Me With U" would have been #1 for 124 straight weeks.

From the actual singles that didn't chart well, I'd go with:

- Girls & Boys

- Mountains

- If I Was Your Girlfriend

- I Wish U Heaven

- Gold

- Fury

Newer Prince music doesn't stand a chance because most folks link music from youtube to let people know what they're digging. Prince has kinda shot himself in the foot with that.

As far as older singles. Pop Life should have had a video and it would have been HUGE.

Why Prince made Housequake a B side is beyond any known form of intelligence. That song and Adore were clearly winners.

Mountains was too hard to understand what he was saying for most folks. Now us Prince fans know but play it for a non Prince fan and watch the reaction
