Now wait a minute... If Ida is going to be playing more guitar, and Mike Scott is re-joining on guitar, then WHO will be playing Bass?

I hope this doesn't mean that Prince's guitar playing will be limited.

That's great news! Mike is an excellent rhythm guitar player and his guitar tone and playing dynamics gives Princes a brighter and cleaner sound. It'll be interesting to hear Ida play more guitar because although as a bass player she knows about chords and harmonics, the transition can be hard. I have WAY MORE confidence in Ida than Andy and it seems like Prince has gotten back to hiring old friends. Thanks for the update!

I hope this doesn't mean that Larry is going to be part of the band for Chicago. neutral

I wouldn't mind if Larry was the bassist. However, I worry that LG would suggest throwing in the same Sly covers for the main show. I was on FB and Paul Peterson thanked John Blackwell, Morris Hayes and some guy who bass for Prince for jamming with Fdeluxe at the Dakota show. It could be Joshua.

Wow!!!! Love Mike's rhythm guitar playing. This band is going 2 b hot now. Glad he is back. He blends well with Prince's playing. But it seems Prince is going to do less guitar playing now & may concentrate on his lead guitar playing & showmanship/dancing....

Where's Miko? That's who I'd like to see! I like Mike Scott too, but Miko mirrored Prince perfectly.

It's getting confusing because you don't know who all the musicians will be in the band, for the Chicago show and usually they have a promo pic by now. It will be interesting to see.

Miko said in an interview that he and Prince are cool and that he had issues with other people in the band.

Who was that? Some of the people we actually remember being in the band?

Usually when Prince plays the parts himself. That means its no one good enough to play his parts...Now it is.So that gives him room 2 try other things..

If she's going to be playing "more guitar" then it's indeed starting to sound like Larry will join Prince on stage for quite a few numbers. I suppose having two rhythm guitarists isn't an overkill if Prince is just doing vocals himself.

What's Andy going to do though? Make drawings? lol

This is very good news. For a while I have thought Prince has been too tied up on the ax, not that the guitar centered groove was not appreciated. Andy obviously could not handle the chicken grease, so I'm expecting things to get much funkier in the rhythm section really soon.

cool

While I agree he is a good musician, his guitar tone in 1997 was horrible (in a word)

Whether that tone was at Prince's request or Mike's personal preference, we don't know but hopefully, he has cleaned up his act since then.

Hard to believe I've been on the org for over 25 years now!
