There is apparently now a real twitter account from Prince. Take a look and study it, also noting who else is "following" him.

One of his comments:

"Mixin up ‘The One U Wanna C’ n ‘Private Joy’ 4 concert playlist. J’en suis content. Also postprod nother N.E.W.S type thing."

Another comment says he jammed (or recorded) with Medeski, Martin, & Wood:

"Chris Wood (bass), John Medeski (keys), Billy Martin (drums) n me on da madcat"

Although it's difficult for me to believe that he would do Twittter, this looks legit.

I agree it's a curious account - moreso because I noticed it when Andy Allo retweeted him (with release dates for her album as well as GCS) - but I'm having a hard time believing that the content is legit.

As for who else is "following" him, that list is pretty thin. Other than Elisa, I don't recognise any names.

Remember that his "followers" are the ones that are following him, whereas "following" represents who he is following, if that makes any sense; ie. that account is following Andy Allo, Dr. F, fDeluxe, the NPG tweeters, Maceo, Sly Stone, etc... as well as Da Bang and Lust, I might add, so if it is him, that's particularly interesting.

I suspect it's just another imitation, but if so, it's a little remiss of Andy to be retweeting an unofficial account calling itself "Prince".

I realise some folks around here DESPERATELY want Prince to be on Twitter, but come on. Read through the tweets and employ a bit of critical thinking and common sense.

This is a case of yet another faker posting song lyrics and cliched Prince-isms. I'm amazed anybody familiar with Prince would be taken in so easily (including Andy shAllo).

With the acknowledgement that no, I don't know Prince personally, and therefore can't say with absolute authority what he'd write or not write, based on interviews and such going back 25+ years, I do consider him to be wittier, more sophisticated, and more interesting a personality than to post trite Prince-ly cliches and lyrics from his own songs like the tweets found on that Twitter.

Very good point, and I considered the same. However, Prince does have a few "personalities", so to speak.
