I didn't know that. But I don't hear anybody chatting how great her back up band is (Not to say they are not great). Although you hear things about Prince's back up band and Bruce's back up band all the time. All female back up band is cool if they know their stuff-just like any back up band.

But it also doesn't take a rocket scientist for a musician to learn a Beyonce song biggrin ..So I was just naming a major act that has one. But her songs are not complicated melodies. Any nursery school child could learn & play them..

I dabble, nowhere near Mr Hidalgo's level but I don't think you have to play to see her facial expression when he kept changing the clave patterns. her po and funk 4/4 she has it locked down.

Cee-Lo had an all girl band, too.

Jack White tours with 2 bands. One is all guys and the other is all girls.

I've always wanted to see Prince with an all girl band.

Been wondering this too! He's trying to find the funk I think, reshuffling band members trying to stay fresh and keep people in anticipation.

He's changing directions...BIG TIME...we need adjusting to do...the sooner the better....

biggrin I'm only guessing but I think Prince likes to have a variety of musicians and change things up all the time. It keeps things interesting and we never know who he'll find that adds some unique sound. I'm happy he does this, there's no way his sound/band will ever become stagnant...... Go Prince!! cool
