I am going to see Ani DiFranco in Oct.

So, I have been going back through some older stuff.

"Providence" brings back memories. I like her "Little Plastic Castle" the best. Also seen Ani live a few times and always a great show. "I Love U, but I Don't Trust U Anymore" also awesomeness.

Ani is awesome. The "Reprieve" album moves me.

I am super excited. I have been listening to old stuff and rediscovering my favourites.

i've seen her twice .. she definately had her moments .. providence not really one of them .. nor is i love you but dont trust you .. since she pretty much just noodled the chords and prince buried her in the mix .. ani easily rivals prince in the great song cannon .. tons of em .. both hands is right up there with purple rain .. xept both hands has better lyrics .. she got kinda boring at revel reckoning for me .. she is a 911 truther too .. props for that .. would have loved to hear her really tear up the guitar with prince like i know she can .. shes a great guitar player .. have fun!

What?! She was just hitting her stride. (it was like her Sign O the Times for you Princeheads). I just think her energy and focus was different-- Ani was maturing or evolving as she would put it. Anyway, I agree with the rest of what you said. Prince could never really seem to collaborate-- outside of a couple years with Wendy and Lisa.

does she still cover when doves cry? i thought his part on providence is beautiful. i should listen to her new stuff, some of my favorite songs ever are hers

the when u were mine cover is excellent .. way better than her version of doves .. maceo parker is on it too .. i think i may like it better than the cyndi and the prince versions ..
