Soul Psychodelicide & Cloreen
A new one on me, I never until tonight noticed the Cloreen Baconskin sample in Soulpsychodelicide... So that makes three songs so far that use this bizarre little gem.

Right -- the little section between Clinton's monologue and Prince's "Can we talk about soul?"

I remember when CB came out and everyone was like "Ohhhhh, so that's where that comes from!" because Cloreen wasn't circulating at the time. Cool little thing. I wonder how many other things like this there are that we don't know about.

Right.
The basic drum pattern from Cloreen is used in Tricky and Irresistable Bitch; not sure if it's the actual drum track or if Morris plays either.
According to the Vault, various versions of Psychodelicide also contain samples from Oliver's House, Elephants & Flowers, Graffitti Bridge, Question of U, The Big Pump and We Can Funk

Never noticed it till you brought it up the bass playing is also reminiscent of Cloreen's.

at the beginning of "Soul Psychodelicide",we can hear Kim Basinger moaning and trying to sing a little does anyone know what she is saying? To me,it sounds like she's singing....

I always heard "maxi pump".
Either way it sounds like a Prince lyric, no?!

it certainly does | |

Listening to to the Peach and Black review of "What Time Is It?"; one of the guys mentioned the similarities between the drums on Cloreen and Wild & Loose -- never noticed that before either...

There's an old bootleg version of the song Soul Psychodelicide that only has the Kim Basinger track playing with all other tracks off. You can hear exacgtly what all she's saying. "Maxi pump of sheer delight"
We used to listen to that to crack up. My art book: http://www.lulu.com/spotl...ecomicskid

Kind of misleading. The drum "pattern" used for those songs is a very basic and well-known pattern. It's not as if Cloreen transferred on. Besides, Irresistible Bitch was the first one done in this style.

What? No. Cloreen Baconskin was done way before Kim Basinger came into the picture.
Three songs sample from Cloreen Baconskin was the implication. Which is, in the end, not true. The beat is not a sample at all, just a pretty standard beat used by millions of musicians.

I thought it was asking about samples in songs related to Soul Psycho My art book: http://www.lulu.com/spotl...ecomicskid

o_O Thats funny... I always felt Soul Psychodelicide should have been on Graffiti Bridge... Imagine if it was there instead of Tick Tick Bang, or The Latest Fashion... It's the ultimate battle song, plus it has samples from other songs on that album so it could've been the culmination of all of The Kid's frustration and have him venting... I don't know if it would've saved the movie, but it would have been interesting Purple is the color of my heart,
