As in "unreleased instrumental versions of Prince songs" or as in "I recorded instrumental covers of Prince songs at home"??? eek

Of course!

Generally happy with most of the stuff he's released in the 2000s, even if it's not as consistently mindblowing as the earlier material. Lotusflow3r being the best album of the period.

I am.

I like his work from TRC onwards more than most of his 90s output. I probably prefer the Come / TGE era over anything he has done since, but "Diamonds & Pearls", "prince", "Emancipation", "Newpower Soul" and "Rave Un2 The Joy Fantastic" all just sound like that he was lost and had no real idea what type of music he should do. During the last 10+ years he seems to have had just a better grasp on his album projects and what type of overall sound he should pursue. I admit that NPS was pretty cohesive stylistically, but it just happened to be a bad album in overall.

He's just matured as a musician and as a songwriter and I'd hardly consider that a bad thing.

Eh, changing the thread title completely changes my post above.

Please start a new topic instead of changing the threads in this manner. It's inconsiderate towards people that have already typed responses and are apparently expected to edit them as well.
