Is it wrong or troll like of me to express that I really want some new Prince music but NOT in the form of Andy Allo and I truly am as uninterested in her as anyone could possibly be? I honestly can feel the yawn coming on already. No Andy. YES to new Prince or even vault Prince. If Andy Allo is his idea of new music then I am uninspired and getting bored.... Is that okay to express, haters?

I think prince dropped andy like she was rosie gaines .. that superconductor promo came out quite a while ago .. then nothing .. perfect unreleased is a nice listen if you need some new vault material to hold you over for the next bad prince record ..

Well...she just posted to Facebook on Friday that the album is a month away. So I guess we'll see.

Not saying you're wrong - it remains to see whether there'll actually be an album. But she has said something about it recently.

NouveauDance has a healthy stance on this - judge when we have heard it. So Allo is trying to gain some fans off the back of her Prince association - who can blame her. It might even be good and tip the scale with regard to the quality of protege releases

Let's just get Sept over with, hear it, and hope that Prince has something to release thereafter

I didn't see the budapest concert, but imo anyone who Prince picks to sing with is fine with me, as long as I get to see Prince play also

Like I said in another forum, I think it's a little pathetic to moan like this about a new album by a legitimate musician who had a career before meeting Prince. People here are complaining about an album they haven't even heard yet, and think it's important to tell the world how PRECIOUS their time is that they won't even sacrifice 50 minutes of it to listen to that CD, as if anyone cared... Well, I don't care: get a life!

And it makes little sense to complain about music being released. Complain about music NOT being released if u will, but leave people alone: Andy Allo worked hard on this record, it probably means a lot to her, don't be inhuman like that.

I apologize if I offended anyone but this anti-Andy Allo campaign is so immature and disrespectful...

Which is so bad because it's just as much a Prince album as Lotusflow3r and Mplsound. Voice is only an instrument, Bria Valente just did what she was instructed to do, and her being the lead singer doesn't make it less of a Prince album than Eric Leeds playing sax on N.E.W.S. or Candy Dulfer playing sax on Xpectation. Sure the player/singer has a personnality but nonetheless he/she is just a guest on an album by someone else, no matter what name is printed on the cover for marketing reasons. I don't see why people put so much importance on who is singing: albums by George Duke, George Clinton, Bootsy Collins, Afrika Baambaataa, Ryuichi Sakamoto or Tricky (to name only a few) are filled with guest singers and no one differenciates their albums with guest vocalists from their albums without them.

The situation with Andy's album will be different, though, as it's gonna be more of collaboration than Prince using her as an intrumentist for a project of his, and we still need to see if he is involved in the whole project or, as claimed so far, in only a few songs.

You mean rather the campaign that Andy did and does to impress Prince fans with her Prince tactics to sell her album to a wider audience? You realise that people are discussing her cause of her Prince connection, as otherwise nobody would be interested in her? You realise that 90% of people on her facebook are Prince fans that ask questions about Prince? I listened to her album, and she has a smooth soul voice, now she's wanna be funk artist.

That's like Anita Baker or Luther Vandross trying to be a funk artist with the help of Prince. Now that's a bad comparison, cause her voice isn't as good as theirs, but I am trying to explain to you why all confusion is about in regards to her voice. Nobody is saying she's bad, but she is not outstanding. She should have sticked to the genre she wanted to.

Besides, I think people are also pissed off with Prince tactics too. Instead of releasing an innovative album himself, he promotes others cause he doesn't wanna release anything. He's very bored these days. She was nice to look at during the W2 tour, but she added nothing to his band other than drawing his ass on clipboards and sharing hotel rooms with him.

Prince never dropped protegee albums he had an affair with, even if they had no talent (see Carmen), so this album will be released. His brain works that way. In other words he makes an album for you, if you have sex with him.

Anyway, I am enjoyin Lianna very much these days. I don't think we'd be having those threads if Prince collobared with her, cause she don't need to draw his ass on clipboards.

No, he releases stuff of protegees he shares his bed with. This album will be released and promoted as Prince, even the song title, logo, her look and everything is Prince's idea.

Data has valid points, but fails to realise that people don't actually have time to listen to every damn new album. I guess it depends on how legitimate you regard the artist? To me Andy is no legitimate artist yet at all. She's getting known in music circles just now with the help of Prince. Nobody knows and cares about Andy or whether she had career. What career you are talking about anyway?

There are millions of musicians out there that already released an album, and nobody takes notice of them. Is this a career?

6 months, is this a long time for a newbie that needs helping hand here and there? I think 6 months is a minimum for a studio album. I doubt she started working on her album before early this year, just when Prince promised to help her out.
