Wouold this help out the debates we have in this forum? Prolly not. Pour purple kool-aid in water and stir. (BTW, 33 is a great achievement.) We are all so full of here

It's a good placement. Some of the guitarists in the top 10 are really, really good. So Prince is in some real good company. The list would seem biased to some though lol

I guess it may also be influenced on whether they are judging guitar playing on studio releases or live performances? As we know...he takes his playing to a new level when live. His studio releases (more often than not) tend to be more subdued. 33 is respectable however I feel he is worthy of a higher ranking simply due to his emotional involvement in the moment when he hits a solo live. There may indeed be more technically proficient players past and present but Prince embodies the music itself and it truly speaks through his playing.

This is a new list? I recall reading their list of best guitarists before, and I don't think Prince was on it then.
Edit: I see it's from 2011, their old list was from '03. And after reading what they wrote about Prince, I remember it was posted here before. [Edited 8/25/12 19:19pm]
