I don't think her style of vocals (ie little girl sound) suits the bigger sound coming in behind her. Maybe it's just me but I don't like hearing a thin voice over a massive band. It sounds like the two are competing.

Andy reminds me of a lesser version of Corrine Bailey Rae and that's the kind of music her voice needs to be singing IMO. This just doesn't seem like the right fit. More like Prince trying to make her fit his 'funk' mould.

Ledisi is a SING-ER! Ledisi is heir to the throne per Patti LaBelle. So, Prince figures if Ledisi says that Andy's CD is good, then it's good. My only problem with Ledisi's comments are that Andy was in a fresh vein with her "Unfresh" CD. to this entire post. My thought was that Andy's voice could sound good over 80s style Prince music, but I agree that you have to be careful with her voice because there is a sound that compliments her voice. I hope Prince hasn't lost that sound either.

You know, it will be interesting to see how this album is promoted. If he is relying on diehards, there's just not enough of us to make a significant impact. I'm sure he could call in a few favors and get her some interviews on the daytime/late night shows, but there's a catch 22. If she goes on these shows alone, most of the world will not watch it or care because they don't know who she is. If she goes on the shows with Prince, the world will tune in just to see him. She will just be the girl who was on Leno with Prince.

She really needs a single and accompanying video released pronto. She needs something that will introduce her to the world so that this album is not a complete flop. Ledisi's endorsement is not sufficient advertising--free advertising, yes, but not sufficient.

And another thing, we don't need any more pretty pictures. I swear that all he does is spend money on photoshoots with Andy! Again, we need a single--full length, not a snippet. One that can be purchased for $0.99 on Amazon or iTunes. He needs to spend his money making that happen.

Why does everyone have to sell units to be considered good on this site? Why can't an artist just be making music because that's what they want to do? Not everyone who creates music is striving to hit number one on the Billboard 200. If that was the absolute truth in the music world several great musicians and singers would've given up ages ago.

I don't have Direct TV either...although my sister does, so maybe I'll get them to record it for me. Unfortunately, herein lies the advantage of being signed to a major label. He will always be in that "genius" category, but he could be wrecking shit!!! I wish he'd listen to some of us. Get back Cavalo, Rufallo, and Fargnoli or some management that can advise him on some badass moves and get the Revolution back together and just tour and make a record with new shit and outtakes. He will sell at least 5 million units. And that is if its a single disc. If he releases a two disc Dream Factory--not only is that double the units, but that is double double the sales. I'm getting hard just thinking about it...

Thanks for clarifying that for us HonestMan. I still think that a lead single and a series of interviews/performances on major network talk shows are the best ways to promote an album. A person has to tune into the Guitar Sessions specifically to watch Andy's performance. How many out of the 19.89 million Direct TV subscribers are doing that? Yes, there will be a few strays that randomly check her out, but most people are tuning into those shows for the purpose of seeing the featured artist. In Andy's case, most people don't know her. On the other hand, any person may watch Good Morning America and stay to see the music artist. But since Andy doesn't have a single oout, it's a harder sell. The promotion tools are significantly different. That's all I'm saying.

All Prince has to do is take her on tour with him as his opening act & she is set....Her album will go gold just like Bria's....
