the victim Throughout the years, Prince has been 'the victim,' hurt, or spurned lover in his songs. Such songs as:
How Come You Dont Call Me I Love You But Dont Trust You 17 Days When Doves Cry Eye Hate You Condition Of The Heart
..and many more, I'm sure. The hurt or spurned lover man lyrics have always been part of his repetoire. I want a song, or is there already one where he has lyrics where he has the upper hand and dogged the lover..where he was the antagonist, the heel? I would imagine it would have the same angry vibe of Billy Jack Bitch, a song where he is aggressive yet still playing the victim in the songs scenario (yes, even if its based on truth, but arent a lot of these songs already mentioned based on true relationships he's had?). Are all these victim type songs another way of him using the masculine and feminine as part of his artistic presentation? I know men can be emotional but typically in music, you get a more 'fooled around and fell in love, got burned, now Im a player' type of vibe. Not a full on hurt delicate flower vibe.
I'd like a session with a relationship therapist to bring out some responsibility in his songs. That might bring about a few Im sorry, I did you wrong songs which would be refreshing imo.

The "do-wrong-woman" is a deeply rooted tradition in Afro-American music, it goes back to blues and jazz ballads.
Female singers/composers have their fair share of "do-wrong-man" songs as well.

There are positive songs "If I had a Harem":
If I had a harem like all the papers say 99.9% of everything I say is strictly for my own entertainment

He's your basic dick in Bambi and Extralovable. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Uhhhh...I think you misunderstood the intent of the thread. It's about songs in which he's the asshole - not the injured party. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Indeed you're right That makes it much harder obviously... How about "Thrill You or Kill You":
Call your ass up on the phone

...and now I learn that Prince only plays on this track -- it was written and sung by Andre. Two idiot moments on one thread; maybe it's best I sit this one out

"Player" is an admission at least, that he was a dog in the past and that he's ready to be true to one person.
