Back to my original point. I really don't care about Andy Allo. Even if it features Prince production and Shorty and Maceo. I will check it out but am really not fussed or interested.

What I am interested about is a new Prince record. And I hope Prince's isn't planning to present Superconductor as his newest work cause that ain't cool. A new Prince record would be cool. Or like I said, I would even take a new vault release. Like Crystal Ball 2.

I think you should really get over yourself. The discussion isn't even about Allo at this stage, it's about Prince. If it was about her it'd be on associated forum. Even better, she'd have her own forum so that people like you can disuss her for ever. Ever considered about setting up a fan forum since you seem to be a huge fan?

I agree, but so far everything indicates that Superconductor is manufactored as his newest work. I want a new Prince record too.

I'm interested in hearing it. Shes a pretty girl with a nice voice and shes comes over with a confident personality, she has the whole package. Just because Prince proteges have not been successful in the past doesn't mean anything it could work this time around, theres nothing wrong in him keeping on trying. Anyways he looks like he totally enjoys doing it!

I hope shes able to make it with Prince and then alone after this album. With her input of young ideas his experience good stuff could come out of it. Theres a lot of pressure and expectation on them, good luck to them.

One doesn't negate the other - I'm sure Prince is working on stuff for himself too, isn't he always.

Once her record has been out a few months and it's fallen into total obscurity and he's lost all interest and she's flown the coop with hastily deleted backhanded comments on her facebook page I'm sure he'll get itchy feet and there will be something else on the horizon.

I had the honor of hearing songs from her new album "Superconductor" produced by Prince. Andy's songwriting is refreshing and so needed in music. Her voice sweet, sultry with an edge. Vocally she does just enough gently gliding through melodies and her lyrics say it all. Her heart is all over her guitar. I can hear where Prince enhanced what's already there.This collaboration is divine. The musicianship on this project reminds me why I fell in love with music. I understood the resentment towards Bria's CD because more or less you had to get it to get the 2 Prince discs(at least the physical copies). There's no gun to anyone's head to buy, listen to or even think about Andy Allo's CD but there's been multiple "I don't care threads about Superconductor/Andy Allo" threads since she announced the CD was going to be released. Some orgers protest too much!

I'm feeling a bit too lazy to find out what the distribution deal for this record is like (if the info is even available on the net).

I'll just comment that when you get your records released on smaller labels you often have to wait quite a while for them to get out. The labels have other projects lined up and will handle them first. They might have just a few people doing everything. It's not uncommon these days that you offer a finished record to a label, they say they'll release it and it comes out a year later.

What really grips my shit is the sycophancy. "Honoured" to hear it? Really? Honoured? And talking of honour/honer... yes we do sometimes moan, some more than others, but we also give praise. Don't forget it.

I am kind of hoping Prince is truly inspired by Andy Allo, and that because he doesn't release this album under his own name, he feels free to experiment a bit more (as in: not feel the need/pressure of having to release a "Prince" album and all the expectations that come with that). And deliver better music for because of that.

Also I guess Prince might think that he has a better chance for a "hit" with her as frontwoman (young, goodlooking, sexy) than if he releases the music under his own name (older, regarded as a bit weird, not as appealing to the popmarket anymore, everyone already has formed an opinion about him). We all know he loves to have a hit and make lots of money, so that thought might have excited him/ fired up his ass a bit too hopefully.

From the snippets that I have heard it seems to be funky and also uptempo stuff. I genuinely hope this CD will bring the funk and excitement that we have been craving for. Let's just wait and see.

People who write off the album before having heard it are just uncool IMHO, and also possibly missing out on some really good music. I think you should always give stuff a chance before writing things off!

For me it boils down to the quality of the music: I'd rather have a really good protege album than a mediocre formulaic new Prince album.
