Does anyone know if there was ever an "official" radio-edited version of "Purple Rain"?

I remember when it first came on the radio back in 1984, there was a version where the first few seconds of the guitar solo play, and then there's a quick cut to the climactic ending of the song, and then faded during the orchestral part. I heard this version pretty consistently back then, but I haven't seen it surface anywhere since.

I have every version listed here except for the two on the 7" Promo (UK). Now I need those two radio edits.

This is one of the great things about collecting Prince's music. No matter how much you have and how much research you think you've done, there always seems to be more. There's just so MUCH.

So I'm thinking the 4:02 version is the one that just fades out early without jumping to any part of the song. The version I was talking about is probably one of the other versions, I'm thinking the 5:37 one. Now I'm curious how the 4:19 version was edited.

Yeah the 4:02 radio edit version simply fades out as the guitar solo begins to play.
